sorry in case this was already posted elsewhere:

now I know what makes more and better armors available: promoting the same class over and over again.

I have promoted my assassin many times and now I have soo many different armors available.

But can someone tell me what is the difference between the 3 elite armors?
Elite Assassin's Mantle Dusk
Elite Assassin's Mantle Dawn
Elite Assassin's Mantle Twilight

Only the looks?

speaking of armor:

I am not sure whether to uprade my armor with magic def or with melee def

Do many enemies use magic attack? What kind of attack does the demon commander do?

speaking of armor once more... :

what does bleeding on an armor do??? how can an armor cause bleeding on an enemy?

All the ones with the same name have the same stats, except the one that you used to unlock it, which in this case would be Elite Assassin's Mantle without a word in parenthesis next to it like (Twilight). It's just for aesthetics.

The big guy with the two handed sword? Melee obviously.

As a general rule of thumb I always go with melee defense for warriors and dual wielding rogues. Ranged defense is your best bet for mages and archers.

My guess is magic defense isn't going to be as important on a Warrior because of your Guard and the possibility of your party member putting up Barrier for you. And for some reason I think Cunning grants you magic defense in this game so Rogues DEF don't need it but Mages might benefit.

Back in the day the best armor you could get in Origins had all the magic resistances: Fire, Cold, Electricity, Nature, Spirit, i think thats all of them. So theoretically if you think your melee defense is good enough you could throw some magic defense on your Warrior, but I'd suggest prioritizing melee def.

*and ranged def is prob better than magic def since magic is always ranged (I think)

Actually two-handed warriors die mostly to arrows, melee damage is rarely a problem because of the high damage and CC of both katari and reaver. Ranged defense is much more important on them, which is why some high level 2h weapons have big amounts of ranged defense on them. Dual-wield rogues, melee defense sure, or just all in damage stats.

I'll give you that but Shield warriors literally do not give two shits about ranged attacks.

And also I'd be pretty scared not to put some melee defense on the Arcane Warrior

It means anyone who melee attacks you will take that much bleed damage based on your current dps.

Ya know, I assumed that magic damage wasn't affected by ranged defense.  It doesn't make sense to me that they'd have magic defense if magic damage was already being reduced by ranged defense.  I've never actually tested it though.

My personal preference is ranged defense as archers can be a pretty serious threat if you're not playing routine.  Melee enemies are just generally easier to control.  Their attacks are easier to move out of range of, a lot of attacks will stagger them, they tend to clump up for AoE crowd control abilities, and they generally don't do as much damage as ranged do.

Magic def is good for fighting demons....I am rank 12 right now xbox one... and I have put over 250 hours into multi player my prestige score is 243 and I will say this stack cunning and melee def on every class and rang def is good but cunning gives you critical hit chance and range def ....I have some monster characters mainly my legion.... I have stacked a godly amount of rang def on it via cunning mostly.. with war cry I can boost my armor rating well over 300 and then pop walking fortress... rinse and repeat

I'm not sure what's the point of your post, but I'll humour you a bit.

Given the game's only 324 hours old (13.5 days), if you spent 250 hours playing it means you played an average of 18.5 hours a day... Since that's only leaving you 5.5 hours a day to eat, take a dump, wash yourself and sleep for the last 2 weeks, I can understand why your post is hard to follow.

So thanks for taking time off from the game to share your opinion. Soldier on!
