I spent so long grinding the Keeper, Legionnaire and Archer because the game made it sound like you had to get the other classes armor and crafting recipes from chests.

It should literally just tell you to go to the armor crafting screen and hit L1/R1 to select the blueprints for different classes. I like to think of myself as a pretty smart gamer, but I'm so damn pissed I somehow missed that one detail and never knew where my character unlocks were. All this happening immediately after I crafted some useless Legionnaire armor because the game decides not to tell you how good the stats will be before you actually craft it. On top of that it's supposed to look like a different color or something but it literally is so minute of a difference that it's unnoticeable.

Add that to the rumors I'm hearing that you really are only supposed to get ONE chest from the deluxe edition, all the matchmaking and progression bugs... It's getting really hard to enjoy it at this point.

Someone at EA must have been like "oh, let's not let them salvage their armor or tell them what stats the armor will be before they craft it so they'll be forced to buy more Platinum."

As far as I know if you have a locked character when selecting the card the tooltip tells you you have to craft the armor or get it from a chest to unlock the character in question.

I know, reading is hard, but the game tells you what to do.

Its not EAs fault that you cant read. It explicitly states that it can be found or crafted. There is also an icon on the lobby screen which says 'armor crafting' in big letters.

Ugh. I expect the bullshit before it even starts and it still makes me want to reach through the computer and punch you people in the face.

No, a little icon on the top left of the screen that's barely even visible that says "L1R1 Legionnaire" is pretty easy to miss.

Maybe he missed that one.

But are you really saying that the information we get from the developer about the player's character or ANY game mechanic is enough ??

Please be honest.

You guys saying op was wrong, please note that op is saying he thought he was supposed to find RECIPES in chests for them. He is right, the game doesn't tell you that you can craft the armor yourself as soon as you have the ingredients, neither does it tell you that it doesn't matter what tier ingredients you use even though different tier ingredients say they give higher armor rating or let you view the tier of your ingredients within the armor crafting menus. When I was using reaver 90% of the time before there was enough information on the internet about the effect of crafting materials on armor, I used all tier 2 ingredients because I really wanted to see if I would get a higher armor rating armor.

It is very possible for players to believe they have to unlock characters from chests, it's not common sense that "if i craft the armor, the character will come" and not everyone will read a tooltip on a locked card or interpret it as meaning no recipe is needed.

Id like a preview of the armor appearance aswell before i craft it. I also agree that armor and character should have more stats listed.

No, the common sense is when a tooltip says that I can craft something I go to the crafting screen and check if I can craft it or not. I really can't even imagine the chain of thoughts that require you to get to the part where you don't even check the crafting screen but start to buy chests en masse.

This. I mean I don't know much about the game, but that much was obvious.

Common sense tells me not to really on what others view as common sense. We've created a real conundrum here. Speaking of armors, wouldn't it have been dandy to have more customization?

Again, not everyone is going to look at locked class cards and read that stuff. And people who read up on da3 before release read a lot about recipes, so probably expected them to exist in multiplayer. No one wants to explore the crafting screen because it's annoying as hell, they just want to open boxes and play the dungeons.

Ok guy. I like how it was your mistake that a lot of us didn't make yet it's everyone else's fault but yours. You misunderstood something. Take some responsibility.

Well, you have to admit the lack of any documentation in DA:I is pretty ridiculous. You don't even know your own character's stats in multiplayer.

While it's damn easy to laugh at others and tell them to l2read, it's just as easy to miss that the schematics are grouped by character and you must click through them to find the right group. The UI is far from flawless.

wonder if this is the same type of person who gets pissed off when they put metal in a microwave because the directions on the microwave were not in gigantic bold letters. if you have a crafting section then why the hell would you not look at it? I mean seriously it takes a few seconds.
