I put this in the spoiler forum because it is a key area in the game so I don't want to risk it.

 

Before DAI came out, I understood that the arbor wilds were a boreal forest, which would mean a cold environment with conifers. But when we go there, the emerald graves doesn't look cold or coniferous, and the region around the temple of mythal looks almost tropical.

 

I am confused

Emprise du lion is the cold area.

 

Emerald Graves is a summer forest

Good point I forgot about this area, but is it part of the arbor wilds and why was it described as a boreal forest if only the most northern part of it isn't ? Did they retcon it ?

 

Since it was said Thedas is in the southern hemisphere it felt more logical to me to have cold things in the south.
