So, i'm having a small problem with Blackwall. I crafted some of the best gear for him so that he can be a walking tank. But then I realized that he was dying waaaay to quick in battle, even in low level battles. So I decided to check his stats. His melee, ranged and magic defense are all in the negative 100's spot :/! Is this some sort of bug? Has anyone else had this issue? Again, I crafted all of his gear with the best stuff that I can give him, which includes the defensive stats indicated and I also specked him with high armor ratings and defensive passives in his skill tress. Soooooooooo did I do something wrong? Or should this be reported to Bioware?

Could he possibly have a Berserk masterwork stat on something? Try to take off everything you can from him and check stats again.

Good call! That's exactly what it was! Thanks so much! I had a dwarven war ax equipped on blackwall and it had berserk as a perk (ha it rhymed). I'm usually pretty good at this stuff lol, but could you explain how berserk works in this case? I know its meant for reaver specs.

Only thing I can think of is that the description is misleading in some way.

Badly. Berserker basically means you take double damage from everything, in return for doing 10% bonus damage yourself. It's terrible, don't use it.

Well i researched it for a bit and it apparently works very well for the reaver tree. I have to try it with Iron bull to confirm but I heard that if specked correctly, it can be very effective. People use it with Ironbull without him even dying and dealing loads of damage.

I have a feeling that Berserk effect might double damage before any mitigation is applied and that's why it feels so devastating, making your characters die in one hit.
