Hello! Looking for some help on triggering companion quests - I know there is probably info out there but I don't want to Google too extensively as there are spoilers everywhere. I'm wondering if anyone here can help.

I am having trouble triggering companion/advisor personal quests, and am wondering if it's because I need to advance the main story to do so, if my game is bugged, or if it's something else. Currently, I have just gotten Skyhold and have not yet completed the two main story quests that appear after that. I have completed companion quests and follow-up quests for Dorian and Cassandra, and the first personal quest for Josephine.

I am in an active romance with Cullen, and have done his 'nemesis' quest, but I understand he now has a personal quest, which I would like to do. I have been back and forth from Skyhold a few times and nothing has triggered ... Should it have? I also don't have anything coming up for Blackwall, Leliana, or any of the others... Any tips? If it's simply that their approval isn't high enough, how do I raise it without any quests to do for them and all dialogue options (so far) exhausted?

Tbh, I am not exactly sure what triggers the companions quests, but I think it's the main ones. So... Just keep advancing through the main plot?

They started appearing for me after I did first mission after getting Skyhold, and after I did the second I think all of them were triggered.

I don't know exactly what triggers companion quests but I do know that only Varric's simple destroy x red lyrium shards quest triggered before I hit Skyhold and now that I'm well advanced in the main plot I am up to my eyeballs in them. I suspect it's a combination of main plot advancement and building approval - the latter of which only happens by advancing quests.

Approval. Bull never said anything to me, but after i killed a high dragon he approved quite alot then i had more scenes with him then his quest triggered. Some you get just by advancing the story, but im pretty sure theyre tied to approval as well.
