1. Can anyone get the ranged companions i run 2 archers and a mage then me as a tank and all of them have a tendency to get right up enemies faces or standing in fire pits etc and i play on normal so i dont wanna micromanage everything thats for my nightmare run.

Every fight they just act very careless and it doesnt work with the new healing/ non heal system. How are your companion tactics set up to counter this?

2. I know im in the minority with this but does anyone else despise the war table?

For me its just a stress thing i wanna do everything and i can get lost exploring for hours(which i love) but get really stressed out cuz i need to go back to HQ for that every hour (its a chore since i dont fast travel in these kinda games)

Just my opinions and im courius about your guyses opinion too and see how much of a minority i am in this case haha

Yeah, I'm also like you regarding the war table. I like the feature, but I hate how we have to come back to HQ to assign tasks...

I have the same issue with the range companion A.I. I found that disabling traps, knock out powder and certain skills that have them come close to the enemy helped just a bit. I'm playing on hard and I hardly have to worry about them except if they run into the fire which can't be helped.

While I love the war table feature, I do find having to go back annoying. The only advice I could give is plan ahead and try to give each adviser long missions.

If the War Table missions are annoying you, you can change your clock.  This is very easy to do on PC in windowed mode, not sure how difficult is on consoles.  I had to do this near the end of the game as I couldn't keep up and felt that several of the war table operations required only a specific individual.

hmm gonna try and disable caltrops then and see if it helps! do you have them on defend controll character or follow? thanks

I like the idea of the war table but for me all of the operations could have been quests in the game and i would have been one happy camper. yeah i love the 5 hour mission so calming haha

So you want quests like "Send troops to get resources?" to be done yourself? There are plenty of those already.

The war table is because you are the head of an organisation. Cant do everything yourself

I think the things that bring in ranged characters are short range abilities - that you can disable - and line of sight. Unfortunately the AI doesn't really understand LOS so if it can't hit the enemy it charges towards until it can see them again, rather than going sideways to get the required angle

Though there are advantages to keeping your people together - if they get in trouble, the tanks are close by to help.

As for the war table, I just wouldn't worry about it too much. It's not too important by and large

i can do but those are the ones i like but there are some that i wont spoil in this section that feel like the next part of a quest and then its just an operation i just feel so snubbed at alot of them! And lets not even start on western approach this area with its operations gated exploration stopped me playing the game for 2 days so frustrating.

ill look into it and see it might be it. i really dont recall having these problemsin previous games but then again it might be cuz they took away healing i just have to play more attention

I'll admit there was one I really wanted to do in person

I have them on follow, they will rarely come close unless some skill or LoS as someone else pointed forces them to come close.

I wouldn't be so annoyed if I could just immediately start next to the war table. In Haven and Skyhold, you have to do some walking to it.. and I get lazy on the base areas for some reason.

the AI is stupid and tactics are non existent id DAI.

I went to one of the caves with narrow connected corridors, I pressed "Hold" so companions won't run around like headless chickens but it didn't work, they just simply ignored that command.

As a result I just disabled the AI at all and they were still running around like headless chickens, what's the point of having companions in my party when they do what they want to do and don't follow commands? Why not just give us 2 or 3 uncontrollable NPC's for the banter during exploration cause in battle they just run aimlessly and die in most stupid ways they can.

That's my opinion on AI in this game.

War table is OK, I don't have any issues with it. All the travelling between major locations can be done on Map itself without need to come back to HQ.

I go there everytime I finish the session to deploy agents on new mission and to turn in whatever main quests I have.

Next day I pick up new quests from there (if there are any), deploy agents and set for another location to explore (or finish exploring and questing on the last one if I haven't done it yet).
