hmm see this is strange although i RP tevinter quite often. if i was basing it off my own heritage i guess i'd be elven.

I'm an Indigenous Australian,

 

I have affinity with lost culture and language and many other issues including racial divides as well as an attachment in oral storytelling and a nomadic lifestyle (obviously i'm talking historically here I don't know anybody who actually lives like that) also much of my family and community take our heritage very seriously and i was emerged in it at young age so i guess i'd be dalish especially growing up on the fringe between two large cities.

 

Plus being bush hunting was something most people did on weekends and as we we rented we couldn't have a safe so no gun licence and as such i'm actually rather good with a bow.

 

so if i were linking "myself" to any group in thedas it would be:

Race: Elf

Class: archer

Family: no one important

 

but screw that, this is about roleplaying!

Basing this off of my own heritage?

 

I guess Ferelden coming from the UK but I also have French heritage so I guess I'd be in a similar situation to Leliana.

 

I'd definitely be Human, I also have an academic and military background so that probably makes me a templar.

A Ferelden city elf, definitely a rogue. Probably a mercenary. I'm a freelance writer and editor in real life, so it fits: I'm paid only when I get the job done, and am looked down upon by nobility (i.e. shareholders and managers).

 

Although IRL I'm neither lithe nor graceful, and I'm a bit too headstrong, and tall, so I'd probably be a Tal Vashoth warrior. Then I could hit things or push them over.

I'm Native Canadian (and French) and I feel an awful lot of affinity for the Dalish, both the good and the bad sides (trying to reclaim a stolen history; getting lots of **** wrong in the process; the social/political divide between rez and city; politics of identity, and so on.) I loved Solas as a character because his story touched on some of those themes, in my mind. It's why I tend to play elven characters, too.

Nothing really fits. I'm part Scandinavian and Thai. Until Thedas includes includes Vikings and kickboxing, I'm out of luck. Maybe I could say Rivain, just because it's a dark skinned and politically mixed group. 

 

I like swords.

Free marches for the viking part I guess. I mean it's the closest you'd get, probably, except perhaps Ferelden or the Avars depending on the era.

Nationality: Free Marcher. They seem the most "American" to me, since we have states (kind of like their independent cities) and we identify ourselves by those states when among each other.

I'm from Hawaii, so I guess the closest thing to it might be Seheron. But I'd rather be a Free Marcher, or Fereldan at minimum - I'm kind of fond of mabaris at this point. On the other hand, since I'm part Irish-Welsh, I guess I could just as easily go Dalish - heh.

In any event, I would definitely be a mage (probably human) - because all I do is sit around all day and work on manuscripts. I can totally see myself chilling all day in a Circle Tower while studying and/or conducting research. Maker help me if I were stuck being a Chantry scribe - I'd go bonkers (that would be a little too close to my actual job).
