I didn't like Vivienne at first, too bitchy for me, although little by little I started to like her by speaking with her and listening to her story. She is also pretty useful for some dragon fights.
Any else not like Vivienne?

Being a Dragon Lady herself, I would imagine so.

I don't like her, she never agrees with my decisions and her way of speaking annoys me so much...

I liked her "snobbines" at first, but later she just started to annoy me.. like being forced to watch (clockwork orange style) a marathon of "real housewives of -insert snob area here-"

She's the most polarizing character along with Sera. People either seem to really like her or really hate her. Often people who like Vivienne hate Sera and vice versa., I like Sera and dislike Vivienne. Find her too much like Wynne in Origins. Preachy and difficult then very stroppy when she doesn't get everything her own way. Though Wynne often tries to actually kill you if you refuse to do things her way.
Guess I am the odd one out to like the both of them.
The woman's raw class was enough to win me over, and I find her epilogue as Divine to be bloody perfect. The mages wanted their greater freedom? They have it with her in charge, just not when it comes to power-politics where they proved that they failed utterly when dabbling in it in the game.

She gives excellent gift advice so she can stay.
I like the character in spite of disagreeing with almost everything she says.
'Vivienne disapproves' is the new 'Morrigan disapproves' for me xd
Whenever I see "Vivienne Disapproves" that usually means I'm doing something right. If she approves it probably means I'm standing on the neck of some peasant or had a nobles **** in my mouth and hadn't noticed yet.

Why am I not surprised that someone who has Anders as their picture doesn't like Vivienne? x'D
In any case, I really adore her, but that's probably because I had her in my party in combination with Cassandra and Varric. I think she actually is really nice to Cassandra, tells Cass that she should be proud of her accomplishments and she absolutely LOVES that Varric writes her as a villian in his book.
I'm also fond of Blackwall though (or well... any companion in DA:I, really) so perhaps if I see the banter between blackwall and her I might dislike her more.
She also shares my general opinion on the mage-templar conflict; pro-circle but absolutely not anti-mage. Add to the fact that I was BFFs with Cassie and my warden BFFs with Leli, Vivienne made the perfect Divine for me as well.
Anyway, that's just my opinion.

I can't say I agree. I may think not along the same lines as she does when it comes to mages. but Vivienne is a woman of intelligence, class and conviction. Pleasant to look at. She carries herself like a Queen, she exudes autority. She actually knows how to make a reasonable argument. Her personality seems to be mostly a product of her environment, and I don't fault her for it. You can't be drinking buddies with everyone. Viviennes banter is among the best. It's clear a lot of care and thought went into crafting this character.
Now Sera, there is a 100% worthless piece of nug dung. I hate how she looks, I hate the accent, I hate the painfully unfunny jokes (haha trousers down haha) and I hate the Robin Hood complex. She is more of a child than Cole. I'm so glad they decided to make Cassandra the hetero option and not Sera. *disgusted noise*

Admittedly, Vivienne grew on me. She's set in her views and defends them very well. I may not agree with everything she says, but you gotta respect an educated opinion.
Plus she ended up as a staple in my party because Knight Enchanter is just too awesome.
On this current playthrough, my Inquisitor is going to restore the mage circles and I'm going to RP it that Vivienne is the one who sold him on the idea.

I loved her entrance in the game and that's it. I'm pro-mage freedom and have been since Origins. So, yeah. The first conversation I had with her at Skyhold, she was replacing some of my furniture because, as she puts it, "they're covered in lice and fleas". That's when I officially hated her. I always give people a chance but she blew that out of the water with her condescending attitude toward me. I hate people like that. Not recruiting her for my second playthrough, that's for sure.

I like them both too. Actually, they both fall into the "love you as a character but would probably hate you if I actually knew you in real life" category.

Vivienne's salient points about the political situation are, to me, blunted by the fact that she's so blatantly opportunistic and seems mainly concerned with maintaining the satus quo that ensures her own privledge. She lost any support I might have had for her position when she presented other mages as predators that needed to be kept locked away for the good of humanity...but that doesn't apply to her, of course, not being bound by the Circle. So I don't trust a danged thing she says as an advisor, and I hate the way she treats most of my other companions. Another reason I dislike her is one of the same that I dislike Sera, though: she gives some lip service to wanting to protect people, but in the end, it's all about her getting what she wants. Given all that, she mostly gets left at home to polish her hat.

Anyways, she's one of the closest people to my Lavellan in the Inquisition, and since we agree on many things and my girl heeds her council, Viv has been very nice and supportive to her. I can understand how people may find her comments offensive, but my Lavellan doesnt take them seriously, just with a grain of fun. I recently got a banter between her and IB regarding cleaning his sword after battle. It was awesome, especially "thank you, dear" in the end.

I can appreciate the work that went into her.
But our personalities are just so diametrically opposed that I really can't stand to be in the same room as her. She's a habitual benchwarmer for me, alongside Sera, who has also been... disappointing for me.

I neither like her nor feel overly impressed by her writing, because I don't think "Morrigan's evil twin" is necessarily a concept that requires a great deal of inspiration to come up with.
Is anyone surprised? ![]()

She's a pain in the ass, but not as much at that Sera dudette..I'm not kicking her out of the Inquistion only because she might be useful as a kamikaze to bring down some enemy walls sometime soon -.-

Viv is growing on me little by little. I don't like her way of speaking to me as the inquisitor and she's definitely arrogant. But she's said some things that make sense. Plus she's gorgeous. Too bad she's not a romance option. ![]()
