Hello,

Here there is a tiny piece of advice gathered from lots of loot based games:

Make loot fun.

The lot based games that fails on the long run it is because they fail to provide the rush you get when you get an interesting piece of gear.

Read about Vainilla Diablo 3 and how it failed to provide loot that was fun (boring loot is the one that gives you +x to stuff and that is all) and to add salt to the injury most loot was useless for the character that found it and then two or three years later they fixed it for good thanks to fun loot.

Fun loot is the one that gives you stuff other that just a plain damage bonus but does nice things like boosting skills or changing skills by example a shield that gives everyone close to you +10 to attack, Yes, it is also a number but it will change your build and your tactics.

I don't know how you failed this after mass effect 3 because the greatest thing about MEMP is that every single piece of equipment had an unique role and even weapons that were improved versions of other (Mattock vs Harrier) at least had perks in the lesser version to make it worth it existence, yeah, Harrior have more dps, but it is more inacurate, weights way more and you had to sit over an ammo pile while mattock it is pinpoint accurate light enough for using by casters without penalty and its ammo lasted all round.

The first step I would take is to give sword/mace/axe something clearly different from each another so people would actually care about more than the dps. By example, maces crtis cause stun, axes break shields and destroy guard and swords normal attacks are faster.

Interesting, 3 weeks into the game and there are suddenly a lot of complaints about the loot system.  Almost like the "hype" from the new release wore off and people have realized how flawed the MP is.

FYI, we're not even 2 weeks past release yet.  But yes, the loot system is heavily flawed.

Loot system is really, really bad.  I don't think it's some huge enigma at this point how detested it is.  I think it's almost universally agreed upon.  Inb4 "I disagree, I love the loot system, and so does my cousin."

wow you're right.  Hard to keep track of which games release when.

Unfortunately, I don't think we're really going to get any solution to this no matter how known it is that the fans dislike the loot system.  So far the devs only seem to care about bugs/glitches (who could blame them) and theres still no word on when those fixes are even coming.  Not to mention they are probably scrambling as it is to get weekend events up and running, or at least one would hope.

I don't even mind them fixing a number of bugs first, really.  I'd just like to hear that they acknowledge the loot system is totally bonkers and that they'll have a fix in the pipeline as soon as possible.

That would be my concern. I think it's reasonable that there are factors that would need some refinement post-launch once feedback comes pouring in, such as the loot system. Some acknowledgement would go a long way toward soothing concerns about whether or not this is the system we're stuck with. I keep playing thinking that they're working on some changes and I'll be really happy if I just stick with it, but that becomes less motivating every time I pop a 1200 chest only to find nothing but low level greys and, worse, nothing I can even get cloth from to make better things with. Very unsatisfying.

Since I am something of a loot ****** myself(Path of Exile, Diablo 2), I can say that the loot is definitely very very boring in this game. There isn't enough of it, and I am in a constant state of boredom when I find a chest or any items. I suppose it all boils down to the fact they set it up so they could milk people for more money, so you can't really make it that interesting.

I've been pretty much playing multiplayer exclusively since the game was released and I think I am ok with the loot system as far as the chest that you buy. I feel that for the most part I have been rewarded with the amount of time played with some nice stuff. Some days are better than others. What I would really like to see is for a chest to appear once you beat the boss with a chance to drop a common, rare, unique based on the difficulty. Most of the time I get better items from the bought chests than the in game instance chests.

@Flytarget : it would be good

I really think a system like warframe could be awesome to make a long term goal and improve crafting. For exemple, each boss have a chance (increasing per diffuclty) to drop a weapon blueprint rare/unique with a lvl according to the difficulty u played. It would requires a lot of t1/t2/t3 mats to craft, but that would make something to work on.

Exemple :

-Routine : 10% drop rare blueprint / 5% unique (lvl 1/9 range)

-Threatening : 20% drop rare blueprint /10% unique (lvl 10/19 range)

-Perilous : 30% drop rare blueprint/ 15% unique (lvl 19/23 range)

So even to get a lvl 23 unique blueprint for the weapon you want, it would take enough rng to let you play over and over, but still, u have a goal and you are playing for something. That would be more motivating i guess =)

Right now loot is pure rng, and u can get infinite crappy **** when in Me3mp, a weapon caped was taken out of the loot table.

I have  130 hours of gameplay (only Mp), rank 239 atm. Still have a white 1 Handed lvl 20, same for daggers, other weapons are rare lvl 20/22.

A friend of mine jump into the game two days ago, he got the longbow of the gryffon in his first chest D:

Right now i am opening chest only with the hope to find high lvl armor mod for my dudes because after opening  at least  300+ large chest, i didnt found any 20+unique :)

Rng is good, but it has to be controlled. If you want people to play your game over and over, you have to give them something rewarding and motivating, something to work for, even if it requires hundred hours of played.

Hi, just a friendly reminder of that loot is still boring. Bow of the griffon is original and fun but still everything is about using the highest dps weapon.

Unlike most people here, I dont want to fix the rng or more powerful items in each chest but more fun items with unique powers.

A surge of complaints is easily explained by people waiting to see how it turned out. After playing for some time, they found out 90% of the loot you get is the same few items there is ample reason to call the loot/gear in the game boring.

I wonder who it is that actually spends money on the mp. I mean, it's a fun time killer but that's it.
There are 3 areas with 3 kinds of enemies and terrible loot.
I certainly would never spend a penny on the mp.

What's worse is that the chests you buy with in game currency have X amount of items and X amount of potions...... I don't want friggin' potions!
I have  ahuuuuge backlog of ice/fire/ electric resistence potions.
I never use them.
Like I said, it's a fun litte time waster but there's nothing ocming out of it. It fels like a playable online mp demo.
