Based on my testing, damaging abilities tend to cancel stealth, and so do potions.  Meanwhile, Knockout Powder (cc) and Poisoned Weapons (buff) leave stealth active.  Can anyone with a Tempest rogue check whether their flask abilities (Fire, Frost, and Lightning) cancel stealth?  Thanks in advance!

Thank you for checking.  Oh well, I was hoping that since flasks are technically buffs, they would behave the same way as Poisoned Weapons.  So many inconsistencies in this game... :(

While I agree in the fact I wish they didn't break stealth. You are smashing a glass vial on your chest. That would tend to not be inconspicuous.

Well so is poisoned weapons, you gotta coat your arms with poison.

Basically just pop fire flask before popping stealth.

You shouldn't need normal stealth, just use flanking strike with improvement so it stealths you.

I mean, not for nothing, this is a fantasy setting after all, but I don't think you actually coat yourself with poison, more like your arrows/daggers. This is much more viable than smashing a glass vial upon yourself. In-game animations and sounds aside of course.
