Some abilities, such as Immolate, do not cancel Winter Stillness, while other abilities (Fire Mine and Wall of Fire, etc.) cause a slight movement animation that breaks the effect (possible bug)?  Can anyone with a KE please check whether Winter Stillness is canceled by using Spirit Blade?

No it doesn't. Winter stillness works with SB, also if you don't need WS at all with a KE since the spec has already a skill to regen mana.

Thank you for checking!  I've seen some players hint that SB is one of the skills with a moving animation, but glad to hear that it's not.

As for whether Winter Stillness is good for a KE is a different matter.  WS provides 30% CDR in addition to its 50% mana regen, something that the skill's tool tip does not clearly state.  In combination with Clean Burn, this allows for rapid spam of Immolate, Fire Mine, etc., all of which do more damage and therefore grant more barrier than Spirit Blade, especially in conjunction with Chaotic Focus, which can potentially double the damage of fire spells, depending on your barrier %.

In a nutshell, more CDR + more mana to spam abilities leads to more damage, larger barriers, and higher overall utility, so it's nice to have WS active as much as possible.  As to whether you need WS to succeed as a KE on Nightmare, well, that's another story, but I can't resist optimizing my characters even if it makes me sleepwalk through the game. ;)

I didn't know that WS also has a CDR reduction, that's a very good thing to know and it makes having the skill much more interesting given this. Oh well, tooltips are a mess...

As for SB working with it, there are also videos in youtube where you can see clearly that it works fine and WS is not cancelled by the sword animation.
