Can I do Blood Mage twice or will I always do Blood Mage plus Shapeshifter/Spirit Healer/Arcane Warrior?

Taking a specialization just opens up a new 4-tier row of abilities for you to choose from. So, when you take blood mage the first time you will have access to those 4 new abilities to choose as you level up. The second specialization would go toward opening up another set of abilities to choose from focused on the Shapeshifter, Spirit Healer, or Arcane Warrior

The only "benefit" to choosing one would be that some PM's may not like your choice.

Not sure that infor is readily available in like a good chart though..not yet anyways. (You know like char building data)

You get a specialization point to spend on levels 7 and 14. If you've unlocked a spexialization via a quest or trainer then you can spend the point, get a one time bonus to your attributes, and put talent points in four new talents provided.

You cannot spend two specialization points on the same specializations.

If level 7 rolls around and you don't have any specializations unlocked or if you don't have the spec you want unlocked, can you save that spec point to spend later or is it lost?

What if you get to level 7, don't choose a specialization because you haven't unlocked the one you want...then hit level 14 and choose a specialization (with your saved spec point from not choosing at level 7, I presume)...Are you now stuck with only one specialization for the rest of the game? Are you basically screwed over in terms of having two specializations if you don't have what you want unlocked by level 7? If so, I'd say that is an egregious game design flaw.

Ok perhaps a dum question as JeBesh answered it sorta. But I too came to lvl 7 and did not want to waste my spec point till I unlocked blood/spirit talents. Now you say you can save and indeed I did not pick a spec point at 7. However now I am 10 and have unlocked blood but I have yet to see a way to spend the point I skipped. Do I have to wait till14 and then it will give me 2 points then?

BTW I play on PS3

Thx In advance supernova5666

You can spend it at your next level up... so level 11 for you. I think the only time you can spend it is while you're leveling up, but I may be wrong.

BTW... I play on the PC; I don't know how much or were the PS3 version differs...

Can't you open he character screen and click the level up button? If you have any saved points (skill, attribute, etc.) then it should allow you to place them.

You can use the point You get at lvl 7 whatever level after it You wish...

No You won't ever lose that point, as it is a point, just like all other points Ypu earn in the game,, I)f You don't use them they stay... You just gain one at lvl 7 and one at lvl 14, same with all companions but Sten *Who only get one point total* and dog *who ofc don't get specializationpoints at all* and are free too use at any levelingmoment...

I turned down the opportunity to learn blood magic from the desire demon, and the opportunity to learn arcane warrior in Haven. Does this mean I can never unlock them without starting over?

I know there is a book to teach you arcane warrior (just don't ask me where it is).

Here is a question if you learn it from a book does it carry over to all characters?  I learned Spirit Healer from a book but I can't teach it to Morrigan. Do I need a character to teach it to her or is it just a bug in my game? Not like it is a big deal or anything since I don't use her much but it would be nice to know for round 2.

She won't get a specialization point until level 14.

If you choose a specialization at level 7, then get to a point in the game where you can unlock another specilization, but you are not yet at level 14, will it still let you unlock the 2nd specialization even though you can't apply it yet?

Yes. You can also unlock specializations for other character classes. Everything stays unlocked for subsequent characters. For example, your warrior can unlock the Bard spec, and although he can never use it himself, it will be available should you make a Rogue.

You should always choose two. Even if you don't spend any talent points in them, they all offer stat bumps.

@Andy: Yeah. It will remain unlocked for all of your characters, forever. Put points in them at your leisure.
