I'm trying to complete this quest and I went through the cave to the pond and the wyvern isn't there for me to fight.

I'm trying to complete this quest and I went through the cave to the pond and the wyvern isn't there for me to fight.
i have the same issue on X1. i did find the cave before i got the quest..that might have something to do with it.
