Sorry if this exact quest was already mentioned somewhere recently!

 

I lost the quest mark when I approached the demon between pillars, I cant progress with the quest at all. I tried clearing the quests around that area, traveling back and forth, nothing helped. I dont have a save file so I can't load before the bug happened.

 

I was wondering if there's a way to just reset the quest via console or anything like that?

 

I have 80 hours of gameplay so I don't want to start the whole game anew but I really want to progress with his story.

I've seen a couple of other people talk about different bugs in this quest as well so it seems pretty widespread.

It seems to happen if you approach from the Dalish camp via the river.

I was able to complete this quest, but then it disappeared completely from my journal. It's not under active quests, nor completed quests. It's just gone. I think this quest might be affecting the inability of people to get his third quest, too, because the journal doesn't register the quest has been completed.

Same here, no third quest. I'm wondering if there is anyone that actually got his third quest? Because all the friends I know have the same bug.

Awesome glitch. Just uncounted it from this LOL 'perfect game', another glitched quest from perfection right?

I have this bug as well. I have also crossed through the river as a "shortcut". Very poor flag activation from the game making it impossible to finish if you missed Solas commenting on the dead bodies before encountering the Demon.

Really irritating bug and surprised this got though EA quality assurance when it's so obvious majority of the people will cross through the river which is in front of the quest destination.

I also had another glitch with it, where Pride demon just keeps spawning during the quest cutscenes, and after it has ended, too.

I went from the Dalish camp and don't remember if I crossed a river...didn't see any dead bodies. But the scene triggered as intended.

I too went up the river, and it didn't fire. Spent about 90 minutes trying everything to trigger it because I really wanted to continue my story with Solas. Guess not.

Ok i'm stuck with this too.

Firstly, I came from the edges of the map and went there first so i didn't see all the bodies, but the one that made him go 'no, no no NO!'.   Then we saw the demon and no cutscene happened.  We then looked and saw other bodies that were examined though only 'arrow shot down mage' was said so i donno if it was triggered.

Since then there has been no cutscene and i have thorogly swept through over and over to the point that most other quests have done.

when near permaniter he mentions the arrow shot down mage but never moves on, the bodies don't get examined and the demon is there with no interaction.  At one point there were soldiers there and the demon was within a trebuchet showing that the game isn't fully recognising the demon as there.  To further this evidence if my characters who follow the primary character follow me and run into the demon, the demon is moved out of the way.

Also noticed that the quest when set active doesn't show the quest and the quest objective to find the demon is greyed out suggesting that the system either doesn't recognise it or believes it to be done.  I need to refresh it but not sure how.

I've tried going back without solas to see if that would refresh it and it does get rid of the demon and the crystals but putting solas back there does nothing.  Neither does going there playing as Solas (as this worked with another scene with the pub in fereldan with Damion).

Went from Dalish camp across the river and finished it without any problems.

I went from the Dalish camp and it triggered fine, had all the conversations with him and got approval and a kiss, it is no longer in my active quest list, but neither is it in the finished quest list. His card is unchanged, also. (Playing on PC)

quest is bugged, i have tried all steps to complete but nothing.

Please patch bioware.

 

Solas is a cool charecter and i want to see what happens without losing 20 hrs of game time.

Well now i've further broke the game.

 

I recently found after this update that happened that even though i didn't do the cutscene, i could still harm the demon and the pillars using the AoE attacks like Blizzard.  So i destroyed all the pillars hoping that would correct the game...It did not.

 

Now the cutscene attempts to happen but i end up with a black screen where if i click i can attack but only attack (sounds), and after the load nothing happens.  It's completely buggered.

Sadly, they didn't fix this issue in the latest major patch.

I'll just move along the story and hopefully it won't have a negative outcome for Solas in the future.

I would try loading an autosave.  But uh...save often is always a good rule.

I have done it 4 times, always going form the Dalish camp BUT, the one time it failed was when I didn't pick up the Dalish quests while there BEFORE going to the demon. I cross the river and climb out at the first place I can jump up (fairly close to the marker) loot the bloodstone on the way, then hold as soon as I see the demon. The mage shows up and we talk, then we release the demon and the cutscene triggers, no problem. Still can't get Solas's 3rd quest though.

I came here to see if it was bugged, since it's not in my completed log either... Luckily, I made a couple of saves between the Dalish camp and before I got to the quest area, guess I'll go back and not do the quest until it's fixed. Better that than losing out on more story later I think.

Same here, this is very upsetting because it is such a good game!
