How did you get golds on that cross on your quizzy vest ? I want to make Solas wolf jaw silver for his black outfit but not getting it yet

Sorry for the late response, I used quixel to determine the material on my mesh, who knows how that will translate if i were to port it into the game still trying to figure it out. I also got in contact with a couple of devs from quixel and  BW we'll see what they have to say

I've tried my best to wait and figure it out before asking but I really need help, with Adela's mod for the eyebrows and makeup the only way I could get my game to even start was to replace files in my patch folder with adela's and then it would load, but I noticed I have black jammies and then with armor I have a hole on my characters chest like where the jammies should be under my armor

I've tried my best to wait and figure it out before asking but I really need help, with Adela's mod for the eyebrows and makeup the only way I could get my game to even start was to replace files in my patch folder with adela's and then it would load, but I noticed I have black jammies and then with armor I have a hole on my characters chest like where the jammies should be under my armor

the mod that i made with the eyebrows is made with one of the old tools by Eham and he said not to use that anymore as it "corrupts" some files i can give u the dds and u can make a patch for urself if you want

ok so here is some news about the _t maps   asked one of the devs and he said that he will have to clear it with BW 1st but he said  it's pretty simple stuff, and the techniques they used were pretty basic.

ok so update on what the dev said : "I've heard back from HQ, and can't share anything yet" so hopefully he will in the futute, untill then i guess i will have to figure it out for my self and try and test it with ehams tool and see what kind of results i get

 

@denise12184  i haven't tried it yet, but what Eham said  seems pretty legit and it makes sense im gonna try and do some tests and see what i can get

So, taking into consideration what Ren said about the game ignoring the alpha channel and using shaders, I tried a tattoo set with just the RGB channels, no alpha. It worked fine as well.. however I still got the solid color face where there should be a transparency, or.. what is the alpha channel on the games tattoos. I am out of my element here when it comes to shaders and all that other stuff so I'm not really sure how to move forward. I have set of 3 somewhat decent tattoos I can use myself and pray that I don't see an elf in game that would have normally used the tattoo that is turning mine into a sold color... other than that, I'm stumped and am probably going to give the tat thing a rest for a few days. When it's too frustrating, it's not fun anymore, and it needs to be fun :D

I made a little save game reader and I'm looking for people to test it out to see how accurate it is:

Here is what I plan to do this weekend, time permitting, to give you an idea of the current state of development from my perspective:

- Move import code over to DAI Tools
- Move patch creation code over to DAI Tools
- Move EBX import/export code over to DAI Tools
- Support all types of textures for import
- Preliminary support for mesh import (With major limitations)
- Be able to package patches with textures, EBX, Script, Mesh changes
- Resolve outstanding patch creation errors

I finally got all the tools working and made a patch with my texture. It looks bad, honestly - just a texture over top of the pajamas, so I'm still having problems with the s and t texture files. But, I think I'm finally getting the hang of using the tools at least. Thanks to everyone for your input and putting up with all my questions.

I wanted to say thank you again to Adela for sharing her skin texture with me. I made a patch and saw the texture in game, it's really not too bad.

 

I see what you mean about the brown at the hairline, though that is easily covered with certain hairstyles. It did give me a few ideas though, so I was messing around, importing different NPC textures as the inquisitor. You still get the hairline showing, obviously. Sera's looked great, honestly... . The problem I noticed was the transparency with the skin tones when using the NPC textures. You don't see a big difference since they are a more solid of a texture. I now understand why the inquisitor's texture has so much transparency. It was a fun afternoon of trying different things though :D Makes me wonder, if we replaced the inquisitors d, n and s files with those of the NPC, would the Inq then look like that NPC? Maybe we could play as Leliana! :lol: Maybe I will try that next.

no, if  you replace the .n and.s it will not make the inq look like the npc , to make it look like the npc that will require head swapping  all those maps do is transfer the details like if for example u use  the divine normal map ur inquisitor will have a wrinkled face texture, it will not have the same head mesh/head shape  as the devine

Are there tintmasks for the makeup? Like on the qunari eyeshadow? or is that another shader thing?

So, I came to the conclusion that the red/green/blue colors doesnt really determine weather its leather /metal or cloth etc (the spec map determines what "material" it is by the gray scale value)  the rgb colors for the _t map appears to determine  the Tint colors

 

ive looked through different maps armor , makeup, hair, and they all have the same rgb colors  the colors don't change and sometimes  on the armor for example where the color blue "suppose"to be metal i've seen it applied on cloth, or something else so by that stance and other research the rgb colors seem to just determine colors for the armor/hair/makeup ect
