Yus it's a PITA, the joys of masks.
I've had this issue too many times modding ME3 armors editing the light alpha masks for them.

For now I will just make bioware ones black, since I want to eventually replace them all, and then i can see if mine are cleaned up enough ![]()
Edit: when I used only mine it was fine, is that because there is no overlapping inbetween the channels?
Edit2: Now they look like this, I hope they won't look more crappy after cleaning it up.

Thank you, not sure what it will be like after a clean up though :/
Hopefully mostlye the same.
So mrjack has been helping me and he tried in his game, before i tried any clean ups, and this is what he got, I am acutally pretty happy with it
thank you mrjack ![]()

Does PS work better for modding than GIMP? I use GIMP, and I was wondering if that could be the reason for some of the trouble I've been having.
Yes, in my opinion. I was using GIMP, trying to edit the Vallaslin, and was amazed at how different the same file looked when opened in PS rather than GIMP. It's difficult to explain without using screens, but the best way I can describe it is that it seems as if PS shows more stuff within the file that you wont see in GIMP. Sorry if that doesn't make any sense.

GIMP and PAINT.NET assume the alpha is an actual alpha, thats why u see missing data. Where as PS doesn't assume, it just displays the alpha as an additional channel that can be used as an alpha. It really annoys me with GIMP, because (and maybe I am insane) I actually prefer using GIMP to PS (PS causes my GPU fan to go nuts for absolutely no reason)

I prefer it as well to be honest and I find it easier to use than PS, maybe more user friendly.. I know how to apply brushes and other things, filter, etc. But it was the alpha channel thing that was giving me problems with Vallaslin file. I really want to mod the tattoos though and it seems as if PS is the way to go for that until I can learn more.

Make your tattoo in gimp, and then just paste it in PS ![]()

Yep, that was how I got it into the game today
I was so peeved that I could not do the brush thing in PS I said *curse words* and went back to GIMP, exported as PNG and opened in PS!

Yay, so glad you finally got it to work for you! Can't wait to see what you do.

I'll see if I can find a trial for PS, then. Maybe I'll have better luck getting my textures into the game that way.
Is there a way that we can see how many NPC's use a certain texture/tattoo, if any? Since it's a matter of replacing current things in game, I'm uncertain how many male dalish elves ( I know there aren't too many, but still) might be running around with flora on their face depending on which set I would use.

Not really no, this could be defined in so many different places. We do have EBX search, but its also potentially going to be referenced in the shaderdb (which we cannot search yet). So any results you may get would be incomplete. And then again, it probably won't tell you the character its on, just the head (Which means you would need to do another search for each head).
What DDS u changing to change eybrows? i jsut wanted to make it with scar effect but without scar
however when i change main diffues eybrows dds it /texture folder it dissappear ingame at all

Thank you for the reply. Might try something a bit more unisex until we can do more than replace.
So is there any way to make it look a little lighter on the quizzy? Or is there a simallr skin colour? Btw (Writing from Iphone so if there are spelling mistakes)That mod is a 100% copy of Cassandra's skin tone. Its going to look different on different characters, because skin tone is not the only thing that contributes to the color.
Grab the modding tools and get experimenting thats all I can really suggest.
He released it on the forum, not on nexxus
Oh nevermind. I found this one on the nexus: http://www.nexusmods...ition/mods/216/
Now I just need to get someone to re-merge my mods haha.
is anyone interested in taking a look at my diff texture and help me create a spec and tint? It doesn't work when I try ![]()
+1, have same question
Did u find finally? eybrows texture i mean.. as i said main eybrows diff texture doesnt work
Are the modding tools hard for begginers? I have done mods before in Skyrim, and Oblivion, DAO was to complicated for me, is DAI modding tool is simple?Grab the modding tools and get experimenting thats all I can really suggest.

Currently it can be quite difficult and tedious, especially when it does not work, eventually we want to get the tools to the point where just about anyone with an idea can create mods, but as of right now, we are still figuring things out.
Latest Finds:
I have located a large number of Plot related flags and Plot variables. Am currently working through the list to get them documented, you can track the progress here: http://daitools.free...flags-t277.html
I have also located them in the save files and have successfully modified them, the second screenshot in the above thread shows me increasing the gold I am carrying to a very large number.
