Hi guys. Thanks for working on this. Read through the topic this far and I can see that mods for this game are going to be hard won. Kudos to you all!

 

I don't know how doable this is or if its something anyone would want to try working on, but I'm in desperate need of a mod to change the female run to the male one. The female on drives me crazy to the point that I can't play a female character and I really want to. Combat is fine, it's getting there that makes me nuts, lol. I was going to try working on it myself, but then I read this thread and, well, I don't think I have the chops.

Ah you are tired of twerking your way through Thedas ?  :lol:

 

We are not there yet but I imagine it should be a global setup thing.

Think it will be possible to decrease female quinari height or is that going to need to be changed along side remapping of armor meshes AND the animations?

Glad to see more faces around here.  Was a little pissed last night, cause some forum I was providing updates to decided to have a member rage on me for no reason.  He was basically taking out on me the fact no official tools were being created,  anything else was crap to him.

 

Normally Id just chew his ass and move on.  Instead I decided to let the forums community handle it, and stop wasting my time to post there.  What really annoyed me the most is he had the balls to say what we were able to do.  I looked at his profile,  and this punk has only made a texture modification. 

 

Meaning he doesn't know his arse from his head in terms of how modding works, compared to the greater scheme of things.  Well that's enough ranting lol.

 

@Meloncholyroar - We haven't been able to convert the animations yet or skeletons, hopefully soon though.  I would expect based on what I know and have seen that we'd have to modify all of the female qunari armors to change the height.  

 

Unless we figure out to say, add a height slider, which would make it easy lol.  Without having the skeleton im not sure how the animation will be affected if we simply change the body height.  Though that could be also fixed if we just simply replace the animations as well.

 

I'm all for making a hotter looking female qunari, like some of the pictures I've posted above.  There necks also bother me cause they are a tad to long.  Either case I'm going to definitely look into this, if someone doesn't beat me to it lol.

1.  Thanks to all of you guys for all of the hard work, I'm really impressed at how far you guys have come in the last few days.  

 

2.  Thanks for keeping us in the loop Silvist, It's funny that you are providing more updates and information on making DA:I better than the entirety of Bioware themselves.  Funny, and also a little sad :(

 

3.  I think I speak for a lot of people when I say I wish I could help directly, but I know next to nothing about any of what you guys are doing and would only get in the way.  Is there any way we can help you guys along, like are you guys able to outsource the more processing heavy aspects to us kind of like how folding or Bionc work, or monetary donations possibly?

Someone made a cinematic tool mod for taking pretty screenshots. It has a free camera + hud and fov control + access to FB3's visual effect settings.

 

Well, this is embarrassing, but I can't get this working. I don't have an option to run Inquisition as administrator. Adjusting my settings in Properties hasn't helped. Could it be an issue with having gotten it from Origin?

I got it from Origin and it runs fine...

 

What's your OS? Is the run as administrator setting greyed out or not there at all?

right click on the  application and click run as admin

The option is not there at all. I'm on Windows 7 64-bit. I'd hoped that changing the properties in the Security tab would work, but still nothing. I'm just not getting the "GUI Found" message.

ur not suppose to go in properties at all just right click the application and  then choose run as admin

do u have diffent accounts on your computer? like when u turn ur computer on do u have multiple accounts? if so that must be why is cause you are not  grated admin access

Nope, that's what I was looking for and I don't see it. I think it's an Avast thing, because I have Run in Sandbox as an option instead of Administrator but I can't figure out how to exclude it.

 

And I'm the only user and I am the Administrator. There is a Guest account but it's turned off.

 Cool thanks for testing. I have successfully modified mesh data now. But it seems to only work if there are entries in the SB to the chunk. If its only contained in chunks0.toc. Then changing the SHA1 in there and storing in the patch does not seem to work. May need to actually make a new chunk entry in each bundle that the mesh is used in.

This is weird. If I right-click from the Start Menu I can choose Run as Admin, but not from the desktop icon. WEIRD.

I saw that but its just a patch folder and i think its just for testing the texture that he did for cullen to see if it works on everyone elses computer... so far i havent seen a link to a new tool  that allows to import textures into the game tho

You can't alter the patch to do other textures? I haven't looked at it yet, since I'm away from my computer.  Also Eham was saying that adding stuff to the game will be like the way bf4 is patched, and he's shocked there's no conflicts, which is amazing.

 

Oh and what I ment by omg, is that he successfully replaced a mesh!

idk how bf4 is i never played it nor tried to mod it so im not familiar....

 

also dont we need some sort of a converter for the texture files tho?  idk if the game will read them just as a  "raw" dds file considering it was itexture format

@Adela - Haha don't worry, neither am I.  I'll take a look at it here in a couple mins when I done eating :P

 

I was supposed to have played bf4 cause my friend was complaining for me to join him.  Though, at the time my laptop couldn't handle the game.

 

The last bf game I played was bf3, and that was a demo version I found on my computers at work.  We just lan that demo at work and killed each other on the only map available lol.

Geezius, I just downloaded the file.  Quite a bit of stuff included, not exactly sure what he modified.  Though I'm assuming he modified all of it, cause otherwise he wouldn't have packaged it.

 

I'm going to back up my files before playing with it all lol.

Hmm, I was messing around with the DA tools, and tried to use Eham's cat to open his own files...and it hated it.  So unless it notices a different DA tool version..not sure why it's doing that.  Gonna try the original cat.

 

Yea no luck.  I posted it in the bug section, and WV is taking a look.

Looks like he fixed the issues I had with the cat, and res viewer.  Still having probs with viewing Eham's cat file.

 

Alright looks like he fixed it all..dam he works fast lol.

 

From the looks of it, doesn't look easy to figure out what Eham did until he explains more.  I compared his files to the originals, and see something changed..but there's so much stuff to look through.  In terms of the sb, and res explorer you can tell.  Though when you get into the cas...yea..complex stuff lol.

 

I extracted the texture he used in the layout.sb for Cullen.  I saw the hex code given to the texture..but if I was to do my own i'm unsure how I would assign the hex code.  

 

Okay..so i opened the sb explorer side by side to the res explorer..and I found both files of cullen's diffuse in each.  I'm not sure how exactly this itexture codes is generated though.  Unless its done else where.  The only way I identified the texture besides its name was the SHA1...which is really long..

 

I'm also trying to look through the toc to find the same stuff, but yea...pretty hard to do.

So seems like he is still working on the exporter to release... since he had to convert the files back to cas/sb/toc or whatever, cant wait to see his new tool  :wub:

so after you create a mod you just put it in the update folder and then it works in game? Is this with all mods (meshes included) or just textures?

@Adela - That's how its looking ^^.  I'm actually going to try to see if I can figure one out now.  I finally figured out something, cause I was looking through the main file code, and not the update (gdi so much info rofl).  Going to see if I can somehow replicate what he did with Josephine.

 

Edit:

 

lol nvm, I need to be able to convert the texture to itexture, and chunk file.  Then insert it.  Don't have the tools for that haha.
