Go to your merged folder, open the package.mtf with notepad and change the verison to 5 :D

 

Edit: ok that only works for already merged mods. I tried my mod manager and I too have problems to merge. We'll have to wait.

No, you aren't stupid. I did go ahead and change my versions in the current  merged package.mft file to 5. But, out of curiosity to see what was going on with the mod manager, I tried to remerge files to a different folder and got 

 

 
[1/20/2015 4:11 PM] Task failed. Error reported was: The given key was not present in the dictionary
 
 
I'm sure they will figure it out soon. Just need to be patient.

Ok, I have found a bug for the whole mods/new  patch thing. I was going to take a screenshot of my walk toggle for you, Trust, but, when I loaded up my newly patched game with the old merged folder, even with the version changed to 5, the toggle walk option was gone! So, out of curiosity again, I exited the game, put the merged folder somewhere else, and went back to the game, and it was there. So, you aren't crazy. But, if you have a merged folder, the option disappears.

 

 

Try it and see if you get the same results?

I'm assuming if you increase the version number of your merged patch to something above the official patch number, the latest official patch will be overridden by your merged patch, which doesn't include features like walk toggle (as it was merged with patch 2 not 3).

 

It seems that until we are able to merge with patch 3 in Mod Manager, everyone will have to make the choice between having mods or using latest patch. I'm sure the guys are on it.

I did this http://ar-lath-ma-vhenan.tumblr.com/ but for whatever reason, the walk toggle option in the keybindings goes bye bye when the merged patch is in the Update folder, so yeah. It's only gonna work with no merged patch

Shantia, those eyebrows! Wow, simply amazing!

 

Are they replacers, or additions? Do you need to start a new game to use them?

 

Edit: @Kamael: how do you get your textures so detailed? Mine look great in PS and then when I bring them in the game, I notice I lose a lot of detail. Is there something you do to preserve that?

 

Edit 2: I apologize, Shantia. I didn't see the link. A bit of reading answered my question.

 

Maybe have something to do with the way you make your other maps (not the diffuse one).

 

If you want I can take a look into your maps and see what they have of different than mines. You can upload one of your mod's maps and send me thru pm. (only if you want of course)

@Shantia I have a question regarding your eyebrows mod. You included a complexion in your upload, and I'd like to know more about it. Is it the same one (in one file) you first created but without eyebrows, or is it a new one in addition to your previous complexions? If so, does it take up the same slot as one of them, or is it in another slot and can be used together? Would like to avoid conflicts or overwriting anything.

They work fine together, it is my complexion 02 but without eyebrows, and without bugs this time lol :P

Ohh I see, I actually use that complexion for my elf so if I don't want to end up without brows, I can try out the new-old complexion only later. Thanks for the quick reply!

This is not correct, for everyone using the new patch, you *HAVE* to recreate your merged patch, the above edit, is causing the merged patch to override the official patch, meaning you will still be running at the earlier patch.

Not a bug, as I explained above, you have to regenerate your merged patch, to combine it with the new official patch. This is working as intended, and this is the only way it can be done unfortunately, it means each time a new patch comes out, you have to regenerate the merged patch.

Can we stop it from auto-patching the game? starting origin in offline mode or some such? I didnt make as much progress as id hoped in game today :(

No, unfortunately I dont have time to work on both tools, so all my energy is being spent on getting DAI Tools to be able to generate patches properly.

Because right now I cannot merge a new folder because they moved stuff around.

I've yet to find a straightforward guide to using cheat engine. All I've found is a thousand page forum thread with all the different scripts littered about. Every time I think about using it, I look at that black on dark grey text wall and just think... nope.

 

That's not to say I wouldn't love to use it and I appreciate the guys that have worked on it. I guess I'm looking for a "Cheat Engine for Idiots" guide so idiots like me can use it.

Danariel taught me, but we did it over mumble. I will try to write down everything I know and maybe stick it on my tumblr for you.

Probably not, the Modding Tool is meant to be finalised, I have not looked at it or touched it since the last release, we are in a better position to getting DAI Tools working.

No there really isn't, there is no point wasting resources or energy on a duplicate tool, when DAI Tools is closer to being able to generate correct patches.
