Well my DAI game is not even opening anymore after latest patch.. and what is more great.. tried to repair.. nothing -.- 

edit: Had to delete the merged folder.. trying to download now the mods with the new mod manager..

I also managed to change some battlemage armor into the mercenary coat and it kept all black materials used in the original. It looks pretty sweet and perfect for hanging around Skyhold when not being a nudist.

 

I'm going to try some companion armor and see what happens next.

I was looking at my file for the qunari texture and I think I screwed up

 

I'm pretty sure the one I uploaded was a merged file rather than just the mod. After looking at the files in the data folder, I noticed a lot of them that don't seem like they should be there when compared to my other mods. So I made another patch for the texture without merging, and sure enough, all those other files aren't there.

 

Could this be the cause of the problem some people are having, and if so, will replacing the old file with the new mod I just made fix it?  How bad did I mess up? I apologize for all the questions, but I'm kind of in a panic right now thinking I might have messed up people's games.

Easiest way to tell if its a merged patch or a distributable patch is size, if its around 200mb+ then its merged, if its smaller, then its distributable. Dont worry if you see heaps of files in the distributable patch, as the mod creation process involves replacing all references to an object which could be in lots of different files. So number of changes does not corrolate to the number of files that will be altered.

Okay, it's only 100mb, so it's just the distributable patch.

Well hold on, I just took a look at it, it certainly does not look right. Lots of files in there that I would not expect to have been changed. Just to be safe, I would recommend recreating it. Looks to be like a partial merge almost.

 

And really there is no harm in accidently producing a merged patch instead of distributable, its a learning process for everyone, your not going to destroy someones game beyond recognition, so just keep on experimenting.

I changed the dragon armour to DA3/Equipment/Items/Armors/equip_nude and turned on skyhold outfit toggle and equipped it.

Unfortunately, I don't think there is a tutorial like you're looking for. It *is* confusing, at first. The best place to start is learning about the different maps. Ottemis has a good tutorial for that here:

Maybe try extracting some of the game textures and looking at them?

Not that I know of. Kamael probably makes some of the most intricate PJ textures here and has helped others quite a bit. If you just want to change colour then it's easier. It depends on your photoshop skills. A lot of people can help you with swapping out textures and creating patches.

Dangit. I was hoping for some basic silver lining and to get rid off that line that goes in a straight line down the back.

 

I don't even have photoshop. I didn't realize I'd need it.

That actually sounds pretty simple to do. You can get a free trial of photoshop. Have you used it before?
