I was working on a Vallaslin replacement but Skaramoosh beat me too it, and quality wise probably way better than I could have done. 

 

It's horrible to admit that I have spent the better part of the last few days in the freakin CC screen trying to make an elf I can stand to look at. Either I get so frustrated on the screen I shut off the game before she is completely created, or I get to where Cass gets her outside to take her to the rift and think she looks bad, so I shut it off without saving. It's irritating. I finally get a face I like but then slide thru all the hairs going, No, No, No, ugh I hate this.  I miss the Kijiko dreadlock hair (and earrings) I ported to Origins for my Dalish elf:

AFAIK Adela has some amazing hairs ready (and maybe others too?), but we still can't import meshes sadly.

 

Also i'm betting my breeches SWW would rather die in front of the CC then use somebody else's sliders...

I made a zip file of my facial texture.  It's available with and without piercings.  It works on complexions 3, 9 & 13 on female humans, elves and dwarves.  You can find it here.

Okay I've come with a nice new concept for Multiplayer DLC for Bioware. I have somethings to ask first:
1. Could I have my own thread for discussing it? Just 1 thread for 1 very special purpose.

2. Are there any free camera modes I can use to screenshot the areas that could've been used for that DLC?

Sure, you can make another thread in this group for Multiplayer if you want.

 

But as far as I know, no code has been done to mod multiplayer yet.

I feel like modding mp is gonna be dicey and is more likely to get you into trouble. Be suuuuuuuper careful. 

 

More dumb questions from me: 

 

My tint map alpha is completely black, but I still find that turning it completely white or black in the RGB makes it, um, interesting. How does the tint map... work? (I'm running around looking like a latex ad right now... lolol)

I doubt there will ever be mod support for MP unless it's purely cosmetic stuff like new armour appearances for characters. EA/Bioware would definitely take issue with anything that alters MP from a gameplay perspective.

While I'm not 100% sure how DAI's tint maps work the alpha channel on any texture tends to handle transparency. On the tint map it could just be another way for the shader to isolate the areas of the mesh that are being tinted. Try combining what is on the red, green and blue channels and have that in white on the alpha and see if you have the same issue. Also If the texture you were editing didn't have anything on the alpha channel originally you could try deleting the alpha channel as it's not always needed.

Not to derail anything going, but I wanted to just say a quick THANK YOU to all of you folks in here doing such awesome work. I've been creeping here (and elsewhere) for a few weeks now, trying my best to follow along, and I'm just really appreciative of how helpful and clear everyone has been. I know a bit of Maya, and I'm new to modding, but I figured this would be a good project to get myself more comfortable with 3D. So far I've just been extracting and playing with the pieces, but its already been super enlightening.

LMFAO, Trust. I giggled up a storm at 'breeches'.  

 

@Jam.. ty for the link but I prefer a bit more of a mature look...  and, normally I would rather die than use someone else's sliders.. tis true. But I got so desperate the other day I asked someone in the Cullen thread for hers and then offered Shantia some cookies for Lyn's slider settings... but I still can't tweak to make myself happy with it. First it's the effing nostrils, then the effing ears clipping thru the effing gawd awful hair.. it can make a gal insane.

First off, thank all of you for this tool, and all of your hard work making modding and mods themselves possible for DAI. So much talent in this group, it's so heartening to see! Think I have tried out almost everything available here and on the nexus mod wise so far, and have enjoyed playing the game a thousandfold because of it. You all definitely have at least one more lurker backing you all 100%!

 

I do have a request for Xutjja, if it's at all possible...spent today trying to get the modding tool working and it's...not, lol. Mod Manager is up and running though, and I'd love to try your complexion mod. I love how it covers up that, hmm, skin right at the eye, that the eyeliner somehow manages to miss. If you're willing to, I'd love a Mod Manager patch without the brows and piercings. Shantia's brows are amazing, and my quizzy looks so good with them. It's cool if you don't have the time, I am still monkeying about with the tool. Best way to learn is to dive in! I could offer screens of her as payment.

 

I apologize if I ramble, stupid meds and shaky hands, lol. I offer all of you internet hugs regardless!

I included two folders within the zip.  The first has just the diff.  If you're using a darker skin tone then this is the one you probably want to use.  I haven't had time yet to figure out the skintone issue when replacing the spec & norm as well. The second folder has all three files and thus will most likely look the best.  In Mod Manager it will be called Facial Piercings and the author will be Seri.  (I'm Serissia from the old BSN.)
