Hmmm, I installed the newest version and rebuilt my mod, but the vitaar textures look kind of blurry now.

Before the new version

After new version:

The mtf in the merged folder says it's version 6 and everything else seems to work correctly in-game. If I'm using the old version again the textures look fine though.

Am I doing something wrong?

I noticed the same thing. Like the texture is losing detail somewhere.

Did you also compare against vanilla detail on the vitaar?

As distributables always forced highest MIP, it's possible the .daimod is pulling a lower MIP (more as intended) depending on where you're taking your reference shots. This is why the advice is to not compare against the distributables, rather than vanilla level of detail of the texture you're replacing in any particular scene.

I see, thanks Ottemis.

I realize now that this has already been said, but sometimes it takes a few times before something clicks for me lol.

A quick question; should I use ATI1 or ATI2 when exporting my texture? Eham's texture previewer says the source dds is DXT1.

ATI2 for normals. If the tool says DXT1, then it's a DXT1 =)

Here is my latest query lol

How can I take a distributable patch (package.mft) and convert it into the new .daimod format?

Don't, rebuild it from scratch. You can open distributable patches, but for textures to obtain new settings, they need to be reimported.

Okay, but what about just grabbing the diffs from the packages? I lost two of my projects so I was hoping I could just grab them out of the package files instead of having to completely remake them. How would I open the distributable patches?

U can do that, File -> Open. Change the extension to mft, open your mod, and export ur textures.

Is there anywhere I can access the earlier version of the modding tool (i.e. before 1.15)? I'm having the same texture issues as mentioned above, and I'd like to see how it looks properly in game before I try and make it play ball with the current version.

previous versions did not appear properly ingame, and u would be best not to base ur results on them, as they were always at the highest mip level, so u will end up in a situation where it looks blurry in the new version, when in fact its actually more correct to the engine. Please just wait for updates rather than trying to circumvent the process, the last thing I want to see is ppl get impatient and continue to release distributable mods

Ah, fair enough! Sorry to be a bother about the whole thing, and thank you for all the work that you've done. :)

If anyone gets into the beta for patch 5, and I don't, may I please ask they send me the patch files.

Hey everyone.
I'm experimenting with the plot flag editor and was wondering if someone could lend me a save file of one (or both) of the following:
1- female elfquisitor romancing Solas just before the fade kiss.
2- malequisitor romancing Dorian before he shows up in the quarters.

Thanks :)

I think if someone goes into beta they would have to sign an NDA agreement that they will not share any information, I got into the dragon age keep bata and I had to do the same thing

If they have to sign an NDA thats fine, I can respect that, but if its just purely a "you get the patch first" situation, then Im sure they can share without issue.
