*sighs* Guys, I have a question.

 

I am having a problem with the Equal Opportunity Solas mod. Seems his personal quest is not triggering.

 

I went to the Nexus page but the modder has removed comments from the page. 

 

To my horror, I also saw that a new version of the mod had been released; meanwhile, the old version had the instructions "do not download."

 

Does anyone know how I can contact this modder? Is s/he perhaps on the DAI tools forum? (I find that forum hard to navigate lol derp) Or does anyone know if simply uninstalling the old mod and installing the new one would corrupt my current game?

Yup. Turns out, the modder only unlocked the flirting option, not the whole romance arch.
Remove the old file. It won't corrupt your game (as far as I know, that is) and download the "Romance" file. Make sure you have a high approval from him :D

Does anyone have the DAI modding tool version 1.15? If so can some one link me to it pls?

 

 

EDIT:

 

Ok so I re-installed Windows 7 (in English)   installed DAI (in English) , installed VS 2013,  .NET Framework version 4.5 and Slim SDK 

 

The DAI Modding tool opens  fine but when i go into  da3>actors>baseheads>hair and click on one of the hairs to view assets  and then when the window pops up the preview button is disabled as well as the  import and export button. I downloaded  version 1.26 of the DAI Modding Tool

 

Also when i go into hair the assets look different then i remember from the previous tool...  do i need a different version of VS or something? Please some one help im trying to make hair meshes

thanx for the link silvist the only reason i wanted the older version is cause  *i think* it may have an awesome "bug"  that allowed me to change the position, scale, rotation of every strand of the hair and successfully import it, hopefully that "bug" is still there :D

@Adela - A beneficial bug, those are rare.  Or is it more "not as intended" lol.  Not sure what happened to my tool, it crashed while I was out getting food ;/

 

I also nearly had to reinstall 3ds max, due to some error I got.  Apparently I was blocking a process which it required to run lol.

 

In terms of hair, this is my favorite hair ever:

You can use morphs to remove the braid; extend the length, shorten, and pretty much change it completely.  Its what I use for Silvist's hair ;p  I've yet to find another hair on par with it, and its pretty old ;/

Hmm, any idea how to tell if your in?  For beta 5, it showed a separate game install and what not.  Now I just see DAI, and Beta.

Me too, so far. The signup said it might take 24 hours to know if you made it. So I'd check Origins again tomorrow, since they don't apparently notify you via email (or didn't on Beta Patch 5.) There's no download cued for either of my DAI installs.

@Danariel - I did a "check for update", and didn't seem to find anything new.  I'm wondering if its just more open enrollment for more testers, but allowing the previous testers to continue testing.  That's normally how a beta test is done @_@  Otherwise getting new testers up to date on how it all works is to time consuming.  But thanks for the advice, I'll check tomorrow ;p

Hey everyone. It seems to have slowed down a little in here. I know a lot of work is going on in the DAITools Forums but when I tried to post, it disappeared... twice... so I'll just post a little here in the hopes someone else is interested. 

 

Been working on a head mesh that is an "elven" version of the human male:

I thought the "easiest" (haha!) way to temporarily solve the broken skinny elf arms problem would be to to create a human character that looks elven by importing a morph (which I know Adela and Eham had been working on) and then somehow edit the save or game to make it think you're an elf.

 

The older DAITools by WV had a basic save editor (can't see it in the current version) but maybe the trick would be to have the game set your race to elf in CC even if you choose Human (Obviously that would be a mod you'd have to uninstall when you weren't using it).

 

I read that some of the people hex editing saves like ricco were able to warp the entire body of their character by editing saves so maybe info like body type must stay there.

 

I guess everyone's busy playing with patch 5 beta but I guess I need to solve 3 things is anyone can help.

 

1) importing the morph (it has the correct number of verts/faces)

2) fooling the game that you're an elf through save editing or failing that 

3) setting your race as elf immediately after or during CC

 

I know none of these things are simple and may even be impossible but I'm just putting it out there. :)

I wanted to try to edit elven skyhold pj to make it look thicker, but since I am not able to make it into the game, I will wait for  someone to do that  :ph34r:

Thanks for the tip :) and I just looked into that. It says I can change the system units before creating a scene (I'd probably go x100) and then import the scene but there will be a mismatch and then I'd have to keep the new systems units (to have any effect) but I'm worried how that will affect exporting the.obj ready for the game... (the scale has to be set at 1.0) Maybe this will have no effect and I should just try it... I dunno.

 

Why can't you import your mesh into the game?

As Kiitosu said  1st setup ur unite setup to mm. In the 1st window, then press the button that says "system unit setup" and change it there as well , then u will also need to change ur grid size,  to do that go to snap toggle and then go to the tab that says home  grid  i changed mine to 0.5mm. 

 

You dont really need to change the size of your object leave it the way it is and if u have issues when u zoom in and it disappears  then go to View>viewport configuration and then a window will pop up . On the left side of the window more on the lower left side u will see something like "Perspective user view" change that to 5 and that will take care of the disapearing problem.

 

As for moving stuff around  i dont really use soft selection.  In the Graphite  toolbar go to the tab that says freeform and then u will have a moving brush  (kinda like zbrush or mudbox) witch also have a button to toggle symmetry on and off so u dont have to use the actual modifier

Yea, with importing into max I never changed the values of the importer units.  I've jumped between blender, daz3d, and max to know how that effects the sizing.  Though, I've yet to actually get something in game to check if the scaling is spot on lol.  I'll have to patiently wait until I can get my armors in game ;p

Am I doing at12 wrong? When I save a normal map I choose 3Dc  XY   8 bpp | Normal Map and it saves as an at12 but it loses the quality, it gets blurred and smoothed out. Are there settings I need to use?

So apparently  the modding tool version 1.26 gives me some error when i try to import my hair it says the number of normals is not the same as the original, but i checked both on the original and the modified one  and they have the exact same number.............. im at a loss here been working for 3 days on this thing only to find out it wont import  :pinched:  :pinched:

 

i also tried the 1.15 version but the tool doesn't start for me anymore  :crying:  :crying:  :crying:  :crying:

 

For what its worth.. this was the hair i was gonna import the hair on the right is the one i modified it from

@Adela -  Sorry I didn't reply sooner, slammed with tests...tests and more tests.   I think you had the same issue I had originally, so let me test which version worked for me.  Have you tried to edit the ini, or copy the ini from another version?  The ini should have the file path of your dragon age inqusition exe.  Don't give up yet m'lady!

 

In terms of normals changing...is that different from verts?  I know that if you don't use a smoothing modifier prior to export on skyrim nifs, you gain an increase in verts.  No idea if that can happen to normals...or if this is specific to DAI meshes.  Can you at least look at your mesh inside of the DAI tool?

 

Also, that hair is smooooking hot ^^  Can't wait to see it in game  :o

@Adela - this is way above my level of knowledge but according to Eham:

 

- Only Positions, Normals, and Texture Coordinates can be modified at this time - Skinned meshes must be exported as obj to do this. Tangents and Binormals are programmatically recalculated (If you see any normals issues, let me know)
