Really impressive work so far, all the hard work is greatly appreciated.
plus i dont even freaking know what males would like to wear for hairstyle in the 1st place, im not a dude
Not sure how feasible that would be, but the DA:O hairstyles for males might be useful if they can be adopted to DA:I. At least most of them aren't even remotely as bad as the DA:I ones.
In any case, great work on the hair.

@Adela - Great job on those hair meshes. They're brilliant! I had a thought that's been bugging me though - whether we can get them looking that good in game.
Bare with me... I ported a couple of male Apachii hairs to ME3 using ME3Explorer and there was one big problem: Texture compatibility. Basically, unlike in Skyrim, the hair meshes in ME3 could only take diffuse (and mask) textures but not normal maps, so the hairs looked kind of flat and plasticky (altough better than vanilla assets. Also, it was almost impossible to get the alpha channel (transparency) to work properly - so we could never get those wispy, feathery ends looking right.
Looking at the hairs in DAI, it looks like the hair uses normal maps (or just are really high poly meshes - for a game anyway) but none of the hair textures (or the feathers on Cullen's armour) seem to be using an alpha channel at all, which is why it all looks so chunky instead of wispy. If you look at the pixie cut (in game), it looks like chunks of tree bark sitting on the character's head.
Now it looks like we are going to be able to replace meshes and textures but if we can't tell the mesh to make use of the alpha channel (we could never tell a mesh what to do with ME3Explorer) hair that looks great in 3DSMax might look not so great in game.
Man I hope I'm wrong. The only way round it, is to create super high poly meshes where the individual strands actually exist (like with Cassandra's fringe) but that's a lot more work and the game might be able to handle that many triangles in one mesh.
We shall see. What is it with Bioware and hair???
Sorry to sound like a downer but seeing as you're doing all this work, I thought I'd share my thoughts with you,
Once again though, great work!

We hope to have an installer for mods. Voider made one for Mass Effect 3 so hopefully he can add one easily for the DA tools he is making

How about simple braided/loose hair. I'm thinking along the lines of Legolas in LotR. Actually, I'm thinking hair that dudes from the Hobbit or LotR wear would probably be good in keeping with a fantasy look. Well, for the male humans in the series maybe their looks when they aren't looking extra greasy, lol.
And the elven hairstyles from those concept models seem to be popular (these guys).
As mentioned before, your qunari female hairstyles are actually pretty good for guys of all races too (and since they're already modeled I imagine might be easier than starting from scratch). Especially if you look at a show like Vikings (Lagertha's hair would also be a good unisex look IMO).
Going off some more "historical" TV shows, Gannicus from Spartacus wears his hair shoulder length pulled back with braids, but his hair has some waves/curl to it too. And very short close cropped hair like the kind Spartacus wore (Andy Whitfield version, RIP dude
) as seen here (shirtless dude alert lol) that isn't just some painted on texture... though Liam Spartacus' (blood and swords alert) hair is kinda the same but a smidge fluffier and fuller or something.
Going off the short Spartacus hair, something I feel is missing is a simple short messy hairstyle such as this.
Regular mohawks too, like the kind qunari can pick in the default game. And another hairstyle from DAI that might be salvageable with some editorializing is that first swept back mullet hairstyle. It sorely needs the mullet part cut and the volume to be reduced (so much Thedasian hair wax/spray lol), but more combed back neat looks?
Guild Wars 2's male human hair or male norn hair (which are kinda silly lol) might be a source of inspiration too? And actually, the vanilla Skyrim hair, while not being beautiful are still fairly practical and good unisex hairstyles too. Heck, even just looking back at what they already had in DAO/2 is inspiration for simple stuff. I will never stop being flabbergasted that they wouldn't even just port those for all the "quality" of what they ended up adding anyway.
And this one is just my own preference since I've been wanting something like this for my Dragon Age (male or female) characters forever and finding nice short curly hairstyle mods is like finding a needle in a haystack.
As it stands I think your Solas hair would be great for any Inquisitor as well, so you're on the right track IMO!
So there are just a few suggestions. I may not be a guy myself, but as someone who plays a lot of male characters (and has hung around BSN and other customization sites for what feels like an eternity) I think this is a pretty decent assortment of things both guy players and people who play guy characters might like. Hope it helps ![]()

Here's an Apachii style I ported to ME3. Something like this would be great.

Are you saying the vanilla hair textures have an alpha channel that the game uses for transparency? I would like to look at the files myself but I don't really want to start unpacking the whole game just yet. I'll wait 'til I can easily pick and choose.

WOW thank you for all the suggestions guys! Looks like i have a lot of work to do lol, very nice styles indeed, i might be done with them next week i think.... We are moving to a new house so it will take a bit to settle in
@mrjack yep u can view the channels and its there but its not checked, also i think the new update for the DA tool is much more user friendly now and allows you to pick and choose what files u want to get

btw has anyone found more armors other then the basic stuff you get at the start of the game?
Like what is the bulkiest armor? I wanna shape some of the longer styles around that to try and prevent clipping... im still in a dilema about the rigging way untill i get that skeleton tho... not sure if i should rig it to the existing bones or if i will have to make some aditional bones for the longer hairstyle... the only problem that i can think of is that IF i add additional bones i dont know if the engine will recognize it or if there needs to be written a code for in in order to do so?

I'm here to ask any talented modder, is there any config file that is editable where it could be possible to add in the ability to walk on M+K?
I've done this in various games including Alpha Protocol but I'm not sure how locked down Frostbite is when it comes to input controls.
So, if anyone has a solution for this please let me know. I'd even be willing to gift a Steam game if you figure it out(yes I'm that desperate).

if you extracted the files the head meshes are in your dumps>mesh>da3>actors>baseheads

im not sure witch particular SP/TOC file it is i just have everything from the WIN32 folder extracted, after you extract the textures the lashes are in your dumps folder >texture>da3>actors>baseheads>textures>eye
