All right, so the Black Emporium announcement went live. Indeedy, 'twill be May 5th.
This caught my attention in the description however:
"As an added bonus for players of Dragon Age: Origins or Dragon Age II, two new thrones will be unlocked for use at Skyhold. Be sure to download and install the latest Dragon Age: Inquisition game update to get these thrones at no additional cost. Will you lead the Inquisition from the Legacy Kirkwall throne or the Legacy Ferelden throne? The choice is yours!" (bolded part by me)
So, apparently Patch 7 will also include the new banners/thrones. Pretty indicative that P7 will be required by BE.
Still, they're not bad looking thrones:

I was really hoping for more hair in BE...and face codes but I don't think it's going to happen. At least with BE, it will be easier to test out new mods. I had a couple planned that I put on hold and an idea for a hair mod that may or may not be pie in the sky (depends on my 3D skills

Negative on the new hair and face codes. There's likely not going to be anything new as far as character customization since they did the beta test for it. There's more a focus on crafting, from what I recall.

I'd imagine high-level schematics and suchlike, and the ability to purchase high level materials not easily obtainable in the game. They do say in the description to 'bring your gold', after all.
On a related topic (hair mods), I've been playing with that all night and holy schlamoley, I have so much more respect for those modders who have tackled it. It is, as Adela said, very time-consuming, though I'm sure it will become easier the longer I do it. Still, it's doable, now I just have to see if I'm creative enough to make it worth anyone's while, since I have a specific hairstyle in mind I'd like to try to recreate. We'll see.

Hi I have been away for some time so just wondering if anyone knows if extracting NPC headmorphs into the .obj format is possible yet.
While I know the previous attempts didn't work for importing back into game. I wanted to really play around with the headmorphs of the other characters like Gaspard, Abelas and some others. So one day when it is possible to import back into game they will be hopefully ready.
But till then I could port them to a modelling program for others to play around with.
Sorry if this question has been asked before. But just wanted to know. And since I haven't been on for some time I didn't know if it has been asked again.
Thank you for your time.

A point of order here: If anyone is getting hate from jerks about making mods or helping with this project, please let me know and I'll work on getting the jerks banned ![]()
Don't feel you have to face the hate alone, we are here for you ![]()
And if you see someone being harassed, please drop me a pm. I'm not online as often lately, due to rl stuff but I will come online to help and ban the harassers ![]()

Are you using v1.27? Did you remember to import the .ini file from v1.26?

no, I mean, I can't find the old .ini file
Ah, all right. Then what you should do is take your v1.26 original zip file (or redownload it again from here). Unzip it to a new directory and let it perform a scan of the game resources (and fail). Then copy that new .ini file to your v1.27 directory.
As I recall, that is what did the trick for me. Hopefully that works for you.

Do you still have patch 5? You could take out Patch 6, put in patch 5, and try to run 1.26 again, see if it will run.
However, before you do all that, here's what I have in my .ini file:
BasePath=PATHTO\Dragon Age Inquisition\ CacheVersion=5 PatchVersion=7 Language=en Author= GlobalMeshScale=1 Version=v1.26 alphaTry making a file called daimodding.ini and copying that into it, change the PATHTO to the directory where your DAI is installed, and save it in the v1.27 directory.
If that doesn't work, try using the 1.26 with P5 to create your own daimodding.ini.

Odd. You are using a vanilla Patch 6 and no Jaws of Hakkon DLC in the Update folder, correct?
Edit to add: You could check out this thread here to see if there's an answer there as well.

No, these things can be tricky. Hopefully someone else will be able to help you. I'm sorry I couldn't help you fix it.

So is modding dead? I have been away for a while and I have too much of a headache to go back and look at all the posts. Hair is definetly out I am guessing. I have lost intrest in the game. I just can't run around huge empty maps with recycled ME hair. Maybe I am just feeling depressed right now but the thought of playing the game feels like an overwhelming chore. To be honest the large openess of it has given me anxity from the start.

But no, modding is not 'dead' but beyond that I don't feel a huge drive to detail the state of things simply because you don't feel like looking up the info.

I really don't know if this will help or not Joyce, but I was having the same problem with the tool refusing to open. It may sound silly, but I had downloaded the x86 ('cause that's where the game is?) version and that was the one that wouldn't do anything. I got the x64 and it opened with no problem and is scanning as I type this. Probably basic stuff, but I really don't know much about these kinds of things, and since it seemed to work for me, I thought I'd share.
ETA: Google informs me that x86 is actually 32 bit, if I have that right, so that explains my problem.

If you're burned out for the moment, play something else. We all have those moments at times.

Has there been any news from Dan, WV or Eham regarding carrying on with the project (with patch 7 coming up) ?
Also WV's old tools seemed like they were progressing well but that kid of stopped when Eham's tools started to have the most functionality. I know you have a relationship with him from the ME days, do you know if he's interested in carrying on this work?
I understand if no-one has been able to commit the time right now, I was just wondering.
