But if we're using the fixed patch.daimod file, it will only have patch 6 updates in it and will effectively override the update. Is mod manager 0.49 working without the the fixed patch.daimod?

if u take all the DLC'S out if the update folder it should merge the modded files

oh and btw jack it still works without replacing the patch file and just make a new file calling it Patch_mods

Changing the version number of the mft didn't work for me. The game launches as a background process and kind of hangs there after that.

Huh... I don't know then. Did you select Force Rescan? Otherwise it's still using the old patch. Also upping to 8 shouldn't work because the official patch is 8, you would have to up to 9 to override (assuming you keep a patch folder and a patch_mods folder)

Yeah I didn't try to run with the merge I created with 0.49. At the moment I'm using my latest merge (which was made using patch 6 fixed patch.daimod), upped it to version 8 and then moved the official patch out of updates.
My mods are showing but obviously my game isn't updated as it should be. This wouldn't bother me (nothing exciting in the patch notes) except I have a feeling that BE isn't going to work without the patch 7 updates.

I don't want to get any hopes up but I've gotten P7 to merge and the game to open. I'm about to test entering the Frostback Basin to check if what I did broke the DLC area but so far it's working.
My heart is beating out of my chest right now!
EDIT: Holy #!@&!!! It's working! It's working! I need to run around a bit and do some testing but as soon as I can confirm it's working I'll share how!

Ahh alas I figured as much! Is there a link and instructions anywhere? I didn't see it in Adela's update thread. Also if it's too complicated (which is quite possible for someone like me.. durrr) I might just stick with my current one until I finish this playthrough (which is really really precious to me).

For me it works, but it says the MP DLC is not current and will be disabled, so that's an error I want to research more. I suspect it's just a matter of creating a new patch.daimod file. I'll peruse it and see if it's obvious what to add or not, since I've never actually looking in the darn thing before. xD
Good job! I don't have the Jaws DLC to test, though, so I'll need to examine that later. Tomorrow is the big test, of course: will it work with BE? We'll see!

I had to remove the MP files for the fix, as well. Sorry I didn't mention it. Since we can't use mods and play MP I didn't think it was important. Do the same fix that I gave for the JoH files with all files that start with mp1 and the da3_mp1 folder and it will fix the error message.

I figured that part out, but I'm sure it's just a matter of modifying the daimod.patch file so that the extra workaround isn't necessary, that's all. And no, I don't care about MP, but it'd be nice not to see that error every time I start the game. We both independently tried the same solution, as I had merged my mods in the matter you devised before you posted.

If you delete (or remove) the MP DLC folder the error won't come up. I didn't even think about it really because I never bothered downloading the MP DLC.
But I am looking into editing my patch.daimod file right now to eliminate the need to manually add files back in, I'm kind of crap at coding or whatever this is considered so I don't know if I'll make anything happen but I'm willing to try!

Just a heads up for everyone zhentar is working on the mod manager so we don't have to use too many workarounds so it wont be a hassle for everyone, after that Dan will implement zhentar's code into the mod manager
also the new mp dlc hasn't been released yet that's why u are getting the error the BE and the new mp DLC will be released 2morrow

Mod manager fix is here !!!! Thnax to zhentar!!!! here is the link http://www.mediafire.../ModManager.zip
If you get a message while trying to run the exe saying the DAI has not been set correctly just simple double click on the daimodmanager-configuration settings, or some of u may see it as a ini file it will appear in a note pad put the path of where ur game is and u should be fine
BONUS it also creates an automatic folder in ur updates folder when u merge so u don't have to manually do it
edit to add u dont need the Patch.daimod in there either

Thank you Zhentar and all the other amazing modders for get ModManager up and running! Had no issues at all merging all my mods (including the MoreLootFlex and Increased Capacity mods that were always causing issues) HUZZAH!
EDIT: Do we need to remove the original patch folder or rename it? Merging went flawlessly, but the mods aren't working. So I'll try removing the vanilla patch see if that works
