Also, I know it's a teeny tiny minor silly thing, but I think I found the 'missing' bugged Tutorial #16 codex entry in the talktables (at long last).

 

Stupid bugged codex entries *shakes tiny fist at Bioware*

 

How long before we can fix things like this and Morrigan's bugged dialogue?

Hey everyone!
Thanks to all of you for making the modding possible yet again, however, I have yet to get the new mod manager (0.52) to work for me for some reason.. Whenever I try to merge mods (doesn't really matter which mod(s) as I tried to merge without using any mods) I get this error..

By looking at the processing bar, I can - roughly- tell it has something to do with JoH dlc as I noticed it always gets stuck on this particular step.

 

Any ideas? I'm sorry if it has already been reported and fixed, I looked through the posts and none had reported it.

Do you have any leftover merging files from the previous mod manager? Make sure you have a clean patch folder with just the regular patch.

 

Also that your mods are not duplicated somehow.

New DAI Tools Suite Available!

Feeling a little overwhelmed by the number of releases to the DAI Mod Manager recently? Want to get the latest version of DAI Modding Tools but don’t know where to look or how often to check for it? Have you ever opened up your DAI game only to discover that there’s a new patch, your mods are broken, and you’re not quite sure where to go to get the newest tools to fix them?

The DAI Dev team knows this, and they have developed the solution!

The newest member of the dev team, Dawnless Sky, has developed the DAI Tools Suite (direct link)! This handy little program is, essentially, a client similar to Origin or Steam, except dedicated exclusively to DAI Tools! Every time you launch it, the Suite will automatically check to see if a new version of Mod Manager or the DAI Modding Tool has been released, and give you the opportunity to download the newest version AND launch it directly from that same Tools Suite!

You can enable or disable automatic updates to the Tools Suite itself, or to each component. You can download everything, or only what you want to download. Also, the dev team will be able to keep you up to date on their projects via the Announcement window.

Note that it will start with the most recent iterations of each tool and go from there. So the current Mod Manager - v0.52 - is displayed and can be downloaded. The next DAI Modding Tool compatible with Patch 7 is still being developed, so it is not available for download - but as you can see, the devs are able to let you know the status of the Modding Tool project via the DAI Tools Suite.

All in all, this is an incredibly exciting development. You can now download this program once, and it will keep you updated about the newest DAI Tools without having to scour the internet, Tumblr, BSN, Reddit, the various forums, &c - all you need is the Suite!

So check out the thread about the Suite or just go ahead and download it today! And happy modding!

Hi :) !

 

I've been following this group for a while now but I'm a lil behind on what's going on with the current tools so I hope some one can answer my question.

 

I've recently created a hairstyle for Female Elves/Human and I managed to import into the game. Success!

 

However, when I try to import the mesh into a Female Dwarf, Male Human/Elf, the DAI Tool stops working  :(

 

Does the current DAI Tool not work with Male or Dwarves or am I doing something wrong?

The hair mesh has to have the same number of polygons and verts (and some other stuff I can't remember) so using the female elf mesh for other races might not work. You would have to edit the race specific meshes and import them to be sure every thing was correct. So basically you need to recreate your hair again.

 

I would have thought that all these numbers would be the same across the races because they share textures but if you're throwing an error, I would assume that is the problem.

 

If I misread your post and you are in fact trying to import an altered mesh of the same race then unfortunately, I don't know.

They probably do if it's not working. I would have thought the same as you but it's not just poly/verts that have to match. Adela knows more about this than me though.

You might want to check this thread and see if it helps at all. It was someone working on a mod for Qunari hair and trying to port between the male/female Qunari meshes.

Yes, I did a game repaire twice to see if the problem will persist.
I'll reinstall. It's the only thing I haven't done yet. Thanks for replaying!

For the current, latest release of v1.27a yes,remove DLC before scanning.

 

For the next version of the tools that will be compatible with Patch 7, my understanding is that you will not need to.

The current suite only has Mod Manager as a tool. You do not need to remove DLC for it to work.

 

The currrent version of DAI Modding Tool (1.27 I think) will not work with patch 7. You need a vanilla patch 6 and JOH & Black Emporium removed from the update folder for it to successfully perform the scan. Mods created this way may or may not work with patch 7 depending on what assets were modded. 

 

DAI Modding Tool isn't included in the suite because it is not fully functional and up to date with the latest patch. When it is it will be included as a downloadable and updateable tool from within the suite.

 

This is my understanding anyway.

Ive got several issues atm with patchings, moddings, rollbacks etc.

But atm my main issue is that i can not load my save files - keep telling me that they are done on higher version of game.

 

Ive tried to edit the package files version nr in patch folder - but no luck. (Know a few ppl that have had to do this)

 

Is there anyway we can check save files to see what version they are saved on?

If i open them in das_editor - Its saying Patch 7

 

This issue just came out of nowhere, i had not remodded game, patched or anything.

Just from day to day i couldnt load one of my saves - Then after trying to load others i couldnt load em later either.

 

 

Anyone with same issues?

Hmm, I don't know a way to check the file directly. I do know that someone on Tumblr reported that they had to raise their version # in their package.mft file to 13 before it would let them play. Are you raising the package.mft in the vanilla patch folder or the modded patch folder? It should be the latter.

This is what i fear atm!

Its driving me insane, really... I got the biggest attachment issues for my Inquisitors. 

 

I dont really know what to do, to fix this problem.

I may have to try reinstall game - see if that helps! 

 

Iam on the same version patch as ive been since we had patch 5. So i dont see why all of the sudden they dont load.

Like...what happened?

I shall give it a tryout. But i doubt it will work.

I had backup of my saves, that i also tried to run - but its same issue there.

Apart for ONE IQ, being Jilona (one that i have not played since Marsh kinda!

 

My game does not run at all on patch 7, after a repair (being vanilla) - Not sure what could block it.

Sweetfx perhaps? Hmm. I shall go try some stuff again here! 

 

Atm creating a temp IQ to see if i can load that one. lol

 

Edit:

Yeah loading a "new" IQ works, i can even reload after closing the save!

But the others wont load :( Also the "Restore saves" button in Origin launcher is grayed out ..

The only thing that i can see diff, that shouldnt be diff from my old save and save file i made just now, when i load them in das_editor the "Build" is diff nr's.   Anyway i can fix this? Anyone know?

For some reason i seem to be on a lower build now..

From what i can see so far yep.

Using Shantia's face textures and brows.  Cant really say if all other retextures works tho.

What about older saves of Ja'ali? Are they all the same build #, or only the recent saves?

 

Also, have you tried using the save editor to change something minor (like change his eyebrow color) and see if that will update the build number?
