@Silvist - I meant meshes lol. Was mid convo with someone else and I have a habit of typing what they're saying to me.
Thank you for all the info, I'll take a stab at it and see how I get on. n_n

Apprently my updated version of the black silk attire is turning red in the game? any idea what can cause it?
Quick question, as we’re at the stage where we can modify hair styles can we now also modify armour/clothing meshes using the same method?
I personally haven't tried it, but if u see any skinned mesh assets for the armor then im assuming it could be possible
@FFzero - Last I heard (from Eham), we could only do static meshes. I have no idea how any of the skinned data would be affected if you altered it. Unless that specific armor portion had no skin data at all.
I remember the old tools allowed you to export as psk, which had some of the skin weighting.
I would imagine it should be possible to do weapons, and other static meshes that don't use a skeleton.
Modifying skinned meshes is totally possible - otherwise we wouldn't have any hair mods at all.
The hair has skin data on it? I know there are hair bone nodes on the skeleton. I thought object format doesn't save any skin data at all? The only way I know you can get skin data is with the psk format that was used in the old tool.
In terms of hair, you obviously have the keep the vert/poly/face count the same. Until we find a way to do get the tool to let us import custom meshes.
So it seems like everything is going well with modding? I saw a bunch of new mods at the nexus. I have my bookmark on page 189 of the group so I have some reading to do but everything is working okay with the new patch? I just updated today and have been thinking about playing again, (I saw a super cute Qunari hair on the nexus front page that makes me want to give the game some attention lol).

Yes, the new Mod Manager v0.52 is compatible with Patch 7, and it even makes the patch folder for you.
There are still a few outstanding issues with mods and the Black Emporium, though, so be aware of those when thinking about how to mod. I just keep two main mod folders - BE and non-BE - and switch them out, myself.

Wow, everyone worked so hard to have everything work and the new mods are amazing. Huge thanks to the devs and modders! I am blown away by the hair mods.
The only issue I am having is with Shantias complextion and the BE but like you said I just uncheck it when I go in. I havent been able to try the jaws dlc yet though.

my official patch says version 8.... so it doesn't work with that one? x_X I wanted the ponytail mod so much XD also I play on origin so for me it says I must update always otherwise I cannot play <.<''
I was planning on recording stuff x3 damn it!
Edit: I've been trying to solve this: Task failed. Error reported was: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
Haven't figured out yet the solution. I tried to read on one other site but only help I found and I did it and it didn't work T_T
Seeing all the hair for females, I wonder when males get the treatment. ![]()
This is a bit random but I've been playing The Witcher 3 (not really my thing but I'm giving it a go) and the hair is amazing, glorious, spectacular. Even with Hairworks turned off, it is still animated - bowing in the wind. With it turned on... just wow. It makes me cry thinking about DAI hair ![]()
This is a gameplay still.

people tend to make hair mods for the characters they play and it so happens a lot of hair modders are women who like to play women. having said that, skara on tumblr (http://skara888.tumblr.com/) has made a few nice mods for men.

Erm, that's a supersampled cut scene. Or ubersampled, is what I think they call it. The hair does look nice on main characters in TW3, and I especially like Ciri's, which looks so... video game practical.

Version 1.0.0.8 IS Patch 7. Blame Bioware for messing up the numbering with a tiny mini-patch they released to fix an error that cropped up with Patch 3.
Anyway, are you using Mod Manager v0.52? It's the most recent Mod Manager. Also make sure that you are running the Mod Manager against the vanilla patch in your Update folder.
Try removing any folder with Patch or Merged in its name and doing a 'repair game' from inside Origin, then try to run the Mod Manager v0.52 again. It seems to work best if you work with a verified version of the most recent patch.

Milbanilla released a mod with a longer ponytail for everyone (male and female) except Qunari.
There is also a Reversed Mohawk mod for both male and female Qunari released by Squid/Lycoteuthis.
That modder also made a half-ponytail mod for everyone except Qunari (male and female).

From watching gameplay videos now, they don't look like that. Yennefer's hair especially does look pretty downgraded compared to this picture. However they do still look good.
Nooooooooo! My beloved Shantia complexition doesn't work with Jaws DLC. Does anyone have any ideas how to fix it (I did make a custom normal for her compeltion 2, the dwarf one since I like the original smooth lips), or any alternatives? I guess since her eyebrows work i will just use the mirror to put on some brows.

There's no point dwelling on what could have been and like I said, The Witcher is not really my cup of tea but that really is how the hair looks in my game on max settings.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I thought the latest mod manager solved all the JOH issues, it was just the BE that still had problems.

Thank you
I think I did something weird so it didn't work at first. Repair game helped me to solve the problem.. why didn't I just do that in the first place ^^''
ok, let's try again; does anyone know why my black silk attire is turning up red in the game?
Maybe u can try to save it with a diff DXT? Like for example when u 1st made it u saved it as a DXT1 try to save it as DXT5 or vice versa see if that works...
I have some other orleasian ball attire textures and they work fine..... or maybe u can try to make another .daimod file out of it.

I haven't taken a look at DAI textures, Joyce, but in DA2 there were different texture files.
One of them was the diffuse, that sets the colour of the item, but there was also a specular map (or a glow map) that tells the item how to reflect light. Maybe the item you are recolouring has a specular map with shades of red and that is why the item looks reddish in game. If that is the case, set the specular map to a shade of grey ![]()
