Sorry! There's a line of sorts where the eyebrows are meant to be I believe, here's it without any eyebrows:

NhmKtdX.png

while some eyebrows cover it up, it's not a huge deal but with a lot of them stuff like this happens:

xhFsv2j.png

I hope you get what I'm saying, sorry for being a bother!

You're not using either of my mods in that screenshot. That's one of Shantia's eyebrows (which isn't compatible with mine) and that's not my skin texture.

Edit: Or if it is, it looks wildly different in you game :)

Ashara, I liked your post but I forgot to thank you for this!

No problem, Jack ;)

I just can't see what else there is to improve, but I feel something is wrong with the texture :( any ideas?

Can you make the texture less blurry, Joyce?

I think this is important as well. Apart from the fact that a crisper image will look better anyway, in my experience, when you import a texture, it loses a lot of detail in game. This is why I went with 4K textures for my mod even though they're not super detailed and 2K would normally have been sufficient.

The only way to know for sure though is to try it out and take some screens :)

I know :( I'm trying, but it won't co-operate with me :( maybe 'cause I'm using GIMP (my PhotoShop computer is at home and I'm at my parents.) But it shouldn't be GIMP, I used that program to my Black Silk Attire? *confused*

Edit; Tried a different design, and I now see what you meant by pixelated; it's the collar, isn't it?

Hello all you beautiful people!

I saw all the hairstyle mods and of course immediatly wanted them. However, I seem to be unable to figure out how to use the mod manager. I downloaded version 0.52 and i can start it. However, I can select none of the mods to be installed (except "official patch"). It tells me: "This mod is incompatible with your patch". I checked and I definately have the latest patch. If anyone knows what I am doing wrong, I really would appreciate your help. Thanks!

Edit: Nevermind me, I figured out that I'm just not very smart...

It is working now, though!

Does anyone know why my mesh imports in 3ds become like squares instead of meshes? :( and can you import your custom face yet?

Edit; tried a very simple bodymesh... this is what I got in obj

I don't know 3ds (I use Blender), but that looks as if you were viewing a very very very low poly mesh. If you decimate a body mesh to a very high degree, that's what you get.

Is there any option for reducing polygons when importing meshes into 3ds? If so, deactivate it :)

Polygons, the triangles, squares, or other polygons that make each face of the mesh :)

Here: http://daitools.free...eased-t429.html Ehamloptiran posted a picture of the import settings for 3ds. You can try using exactly those import settings and see if it works :)

I tried with importing it as .psk, and that worked. However, I can not move the body parts, like Cullens leg :(

hmm thats strange.... i never had that happen....  if u zoom out from the object does it still look like that? Sometimes when u are zoomed in too much, it looks like the mesh is "broken"  because its looking inside it , if that makes sense. do u have skype joyce? And what tool are u using?

Slightly OT question does anyone know if likeasaarebas from tumblr has an account of the toolset forums or anywhere else? Seems like they've either deleted their tumblr page or changed their name on there. They had some good tutorials and some success at modifying armour/clothing meshes and some very good hair mods like that extra long hairstyle for female elves and humans.

I only know that likesaarebas had deleted all her mods and won't be bringing them back

Shame, she had some good mods on the go. It’s sad that so many modders are getting hate/demands lately over some/all of their mods. Makes me wonder if the majority of people who use mods understand that for the majority of us modders it’s simply a hobby and not the be all and end all.

She is still on Tumblr under a new URL. However, having said that, she did delete all her mods, citing harassment and negative reaction as the main reason. I'm not sure if she deleted her tutorials, so perhaps you could find those still at her blog. (I kept a copy of her hair mod tutorial myself, for when I have enough free time to actually do something with it.)

She has pulled back sharply from the fandom, though recently has shown signs of at least playing with her main Inquisitor again. I highly doubt she'll ever release her mods publicly again, but at least she's back to enjoying the game itself, for which I'm glad.

Parts of your texture look very low res whereas other parts look very crisp and clean which makes the overall texture look a bit odd. I’m guessing that you’re not painting the textures by hand and are instead copying and pasting stuff from other textures/photos? If some of the source material you’re using is very low res short of trying to paint those textures yourself, which isn’t an easy task I know, there isn’t really a way to fix that unless you find some higher resolution assets to use.

Finding decent free art assets to use in modding isn’t easy but you can find some decent photoshop brushes on deviant art and other sites that could help you should you attempt to paint your own textures, if however you’re okay with spending a little bit of money on getting some decent texture assets I can recommend sites like renderosity. Some of the merchant resources they have on there I have used in texture mods I’ve done in the past and they’re fairly cheap considering in some of them you can get around 100 high res texture assets. There’s also sites like CGTextures which supply high res images/textures but it can be a bit hit and miss in terms of how usable the image/texture is. When I was doing the texture for Alistair's armour for DahliaLynns wedding mod I got the texture for chest piece from there.

Just a few, if you’re using photoshop and want to attempt to paint your own textures, or even if you don't, set both the width/height and the DPI/Resolution for your texture very high, it’ll preserve most of the quality of the texture should you try to resize and warp it to fit the skyhold jammy texture later. Also make sure whenever you’re resizing stuff to set interpolation to bicubic sharper to keep the texture crisper. Also abuse the convert to smart object feature if you have a more up-to-date version of photoshop. It allows you to resize layers without actually altering the original image, so say you had a texture/image you want to fit to where the inquisitors arm would be on the texture if you convert the layer that image is on to a smart object you can resize and warp that layer to your hearts content without actually changing the original image or losing any of the quality of the original image. Handy for images/textures with fine details.

Whenever I’m painting textures for character models I typically have it set at 4096x4096 at 300 DPI which is admittedly a bit OTT but you can worry about optimising your texture once you’ve actually got it to a point where you’re happy with it.

I'm glad that she hasn't let all that stuff beat her and is still finding some fun to be had in the game itself. Do you know what her new url is? I was more interested in her tutorials and following her progress on tweaking meshes for the skyhold jammies as I’m trying, and failing, to do the same right now.
