Just a few, if you’re using photoshop and want to attempt to paint your own textures, or even if you don't, set both the width/height and the DPI/Resolution for your texture very high, it’ll preserve most of the quality of the texture should you try to resize and warp it to fit the skyhold jammy texture later. Also make sure whenever you’re resizing stuff to set interpolation to bicubic sharper to keep the texture crisper. Also abuse the convert to smart object feature if you have a more up-to-date version of photoshop. It allows you to resize layers without actually altering the original image, so say you had a texture/image you want to fit to where the inquisitors arm would be on the texture if you convert the layer that image is on to a smart object you can resize and warp that layer to your hearts content without actually changing the original image or losing any of the quality of the original image. Handy for images/textures with fine details.
Whenever I’m painting textures for character models I typically have it set at 4096x4096 at 300 DPI which is admittedly a bit OTT but you can worry about optimising your texture once you’ve actually got it to a point where you’re happy with it.
Ahhh, all the stuff I want to learn and don't have the time to.
I'm so grateful for our modders. *big hugs* ![]()
