A lot of people have been having trouble with the modding tool. Which version is it? 1.31 or 1.27? Is it just this specific mod making it crash, or any mod you try to make?

1.27 :( but Adela and I have been trying different things, and it's the mesh import things that are the trouble, so we have come to the conclusion that it's not the exporting of my hair mod that is the problem, but the tool itself

Patch 8 (technically 9) is live on Origin. Here's hoping that it doesn't break modding  :huh:


It breaks both mods and the Mod Manager. *sigh* Someone needs to see if incrementing the package.mft in the modded folder fixes at least the mods being broken. I can't do it for several hours, unfortunately, or I'd do it myself.

UPDATE: Someone on the DAI Tools forum said that incrementing the package.mft file on an existing Patch folder fixed the problem of mods not working. But Mod Manager can't merge mods with Patch 8 anymore (not surprisingly).

Origin might not let you play unless you update. I've countered that in the past by putting my Origin client into 'Offline' mode.

*crying* I just don't understand what I'm doing wrong! I've checked a dozen times and compared to see if the object data and verts and whatever are correct and they are. And yet, the modding tool keep crashing on me :(

If the modding tool crashes right away despite the number of verts being accurate it could be the position of the mesh when 3ds max import/export the obj. I've experienced this while trying to help someone. Don't know what version of 3ds Max they were using though.

The mesh in yellow is the correct default position. The modded mesh is the one at the bottom. Once the position of the modded mesh is fixed, the obj imported into the tool with no problems. If you haven't tried this yet, it's something to consider perhaps?

I've been using 1.26 and 1.31 to import and export meshes without much problems.  

How do I do that? In blender you just press some keys on the keyboard. Can I do that here or do I have to do it manually? And the mesh is always in default position. I don't move it at all :S

Just a heads up about the new patch, I've left a message to Zhentar  via skype  we will see if he will have time to fix the mod manager

So far that helps to keep the mods working, but the Mod Manager is broken and can't merge new mods. So it's sort of a limbo place.

Just a heads up, using the workaround by editing the package.mft messes with multiplayer, the new difficulties added don't show up. Not an issue if you don't play it but still something for the coders to be aware off.

Hi! A question; since I have a trial version of max 2012 that allows me to export correctly, it'll expire in 29 days from now. I've already asked MilaBanilla for help about making it to a daimod, since my own modding tool won't work. But she's out of town and won't be back until next week. But since the 3ds expires, I need to have the hairmod done as soon as I can and if 3ds expires before that... well, I assume you can do the math. Does anyone have a modding tool 1.27 that can import meshes?

I'm done with the modeling and exported the mesh, all you need to do is importing it in the modding tool :) it's the ef_u hair mesh :) here is the link to my mod, let me know if there's a problem :)
