I made a new mod with the latest mod manager, (just updating portraits) but it causes infinite loading. Is that a know issue or is something wrong?

I watched this thread a while ago....and now I have a problem where maybe someone can help me.
Iam one of those people who can´t impost edited meshes, because I don´t use the english version of the game *cries* (mine are german).
Now I look to find a way to deal with this. I will try some different ways, maybe I have luck^^
So, please can someone give me an HF-Hairstyle-Obj. It doesent matter which one, but it should be from the original english version of the game.
This would be very helpful ![]()

I want to make my own version of pajama re-tint for the Live Like Viv mod (for my own personal use) but I don't know what armor to get the hex file from. I tried changing the colours of Viv's start armor but nothing happened. I have been following the pj tutorial for hex editing instructions.

you need to edit the inq armor unequipped, also i think the current tools have some ebx saving issues, so maybe an older build would be best to work with
i think the file path is DA3//Equipment//Appearances//Armors//item_app_armor_unequipped

Thanks I am going to try that. I am using version 16 of the tools. I hope it that's old enough.
EDIT:
Editing the unequipped file causes mod maker to crash when I import it. Are the values different then those used in the pj tutorial? It says:
E0 – FF: Primary cloth tint 100 – 11F: Secondary cloth tint 120 – 13F: Leather tint 140 – 15F: Metal tint
EDIT 2:
I followed the pj tutorial and edited da3/equipment/items/armors/equip_armor_unequipped, I changed all 4 colours in the above order saved the mod and merged it but it makes my saves crash. I don't know what I am doing wrong.

I'm interested in using hex editing to change the appearance of one staff blade so that it appears to be a different one. When I open the section 'staffparts' in the 'weapons' section of the 'appearance' tab of the mod manager, I get a list of parts. Bioware seems to have helpfully labelled them by number, not name, though. Is it possible someone has already compiled a list of which numbers correspond to which models or names, in game, or will this be a new frontier I'll have to blaze?

Ok, I got curious. Some hair mods work in Trespasser and some don't, as we all know. I tested 26 different hair mods for the human female and this is what I found.
Hair mods based on the following base styles WILL NOT show in Trespasser: P (the bun), PB (ponytail), Q, N, and maybe D. I only had one D to test.
Hair mods based on styles 052, M, 047, DB, E and PC will probably show if they show up fine in original game area. I created a quick reference below. The styles are in the same order as you'll find in the Black Emporium.

Some styles I tried are old (a few patches ago) and some new (days ago). The only common denominator I found for working and not working was the base. For example, I tested 5 different bun mods and none of them worked.
I hope this helps some people when it's time to go to Trespasser. Maybe JoH has the same issue? Iirc some hair mods don't show there, either.
I almost forgot to thank Word of Mod for the wonderful compendium. You have helped me immensely, finding hair mods and satisfying my need to know. Thank you very much.
*****Somebody mentioned in another thread that some hairstyle mods might not show in the Winter Palace proper part of Trespasser, but once you're out fighting they can show up. I did not test that. IMO if I can't see and enjoy looking at myself (just call me Narcissus) when I'm not running around geared up for battle what's the point? ![]()
P.S. I know Skaramoosh's hair texture mods cause a problem in Trespasser
, which is too bad because I really like the smooth shiny one
. However, Font of Nothing did a hair retexture which seems to work. I think it is either not finished or doesn't touch as many maps?/channels? as Skara's.
In time for New Year's I tested some Qunari hair mods. I tried mods for each hair base and they showed up in Trespasser. I did not test each hair with each horn, but at least it seems like they'll work okay.

hey guys I have an issue. I just recently started playing DAI again after adding a new hair mod and now it is doing this weird thing. Wherever I go I can see my screen flashing black continuously and I tried reparing the game (using no mods as well) and downloaded nvidia geforce experience again and some visuals as well and it seems not to work x_x I don't know whats going on and cannot find a solution through google either.

No, I haven't downloaded any using that base. I'll go back to the compendium later and look for styles for base mods I haven't tested: 050, G, K, and U. I've spent all day on Halloween decorations - I'm working on a levitating bones effect.
In case anybody wants to know how I test, I choose a style in BE then go to a main area such as Val Royeaux to make sure it is showing up in main game. Once I verify it works for me I go to the Peace Conference.
Tested one each for 050, G, K, and U. All 4 showed up in Trespasser.

No drama from me, I promise. I am not sure where or how such occurred though...I just don't remember being in anything big and bad on here, but memory is a fleeting thing. Honestly, all I want to do is discuss modding stuff=)

By the way, in case anyone is wondering just who I am, I run all of the WyldTat mods on the nexus. I have created tat mods for DA, DA 2, DAI (just posted it today), and Skyrim. I also have a race mod for Skyrim as well (the Noiral).
For anyone curious, I did release 28 tats today, though I will probably rework a few of them: http://www.nexusmods...tion/mods/988/?
I am debating on working on some textures for the game, similar to my work with my Noiral race. I had some skins where there were arcane symbols that appear and disappear based on lighting conditions. I am curious to see if I can make them work in DAI.

I went to play today and noticed there was an update (my patch now says version 12) and since downloading it, I get a black loading screen at the startup. The green icon flashes, but the game never progresses beyond this. I've repaired the game through Origin and checked all my mods, updated graphics drivers, all that, but nothing works. Has anyone had this happen or know the cause? I've never ran into this before.
ETA: Ugh...my fault. I forgot to force rescan. I can hide this if I need to.

Quick question: If I modify a skin and upload it into the game, does that affect more than just the player character? Or are the usable skins player specific?

I believe complexion 3 is PC specific (except for the elf woman that you wake up to find in Haven after attempting to close the Breach at the beginning). All the other complexions are shared with various NPC's throughout the game.
At least that's what I always understood. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I won't be able to try or test anything with this until 3 -4 days from now, but hopefully this is the case.
By the way, now that I have finished my first mod, I can finally start playing Cassia with one of the first tats I ever worked on for my WyldTat mods back in the day:
