can't believe i finally reached the last page. great stuff so far folks. especially Adele. would love to join your effort of adding more hairstyles to DAI and share experiences i had with adding hairstyles to DA2. all the trials and tribulations of different race skeletons, tedious weight painting and the tint maps  ^_^ and the cat ears... oh the cat ears.

special thanks goes to WV and Eha for the amazing progress they continue to make.

Could you please tell me how you did for DA2?? I've been trying forever to add a hairstyle, but it just doesn't work. Tutorial?

Btw, where can I find the extractor for the sound files?

I love the hairstyles you've done! I was wondering if I could request one for female Qunari? It's not the best example I could find, but it doesn't look completely bonkers around the horns.

Basically it's pulled back, but you could add bangs or something, with two buns at the back. Sorta like Triss's from Witcher 2. It'd be super adorable on Qunari girls.

Actually, i think pretty much any of the girl draenei hairs would look cute on Qunari women.

I'm partial to that one honestly.

Great work so far, I'm following your discussion and hoping and waiting that one day we have a tool (or a way) which will allow us to mod the game, both the looks and other details. Wish I'd know about this area myself so that I could contribute my skills to you all but alas, I am not too familiar with it :(

But I do have one question - will your tool or your method allow to, for example, re-use existing character looks in a new game? Specifically I managed to create a char which looks I like and I know that I won't be able to re-create it, so I'd like to use this same character again in another play through. You know, different state, different class but the same looks. If that would be possible it'd be superb.

The tools allow us to extract the face data from save games, so eventually I suspect yes. Still need to figure out how to get it copied into another save game, and also figure out the structure of the remaining savegame.

Not on the same format. We can get the 3D models from the characters, for quizzy we get the 3D model and the adjustments you did with the sliders :)

I asked because I remember of DAO and DA2 having mods of the companions and other character's faces for character creation. That would be quite helpful since the 5 default presets are awful.

Create a female elf out of Fiona or Briala's face would be much easier.

All I wanted was the dwarf lady's long shoulder braid from one of the first images they released. So very disappointed with the hair we got. The one nice one has sideburns.....I can't even...

Will it really be possibly to have the hair in the game? You even have a beautiful braid style like the preview image.

If it is I will give you my soul and bear your children!

Hello all, I've been lurking since this group started, but not joined since I'm no modder, just someone who gluttonously eats up every pretty thing your talented hands create.  Much <3

I'd like to ask if there is, or will there be a way to swap body models for the male elf inquisitor, specifically to let him use either Solas' or Abelas' body.  I really want to play a male elf one day, but I don't want him to look like the 12-year-old boy that BioWare saw fit to saddle us with.

Thanks!

Each thing at a time. Currently there are unreleased fetures that we know work such as the ability to put things back into the game such as textures and models. Ehamloptiran has successfully put a pink armor in Cullen, changed the collor / appearance of Haven's main gate, added a level 10 nug enemy called "dragon".

So we know for a fact that we can change npc's armor and scenery details. Eh' is currently working on model changes for the Inquisitor which will allow modders to change quizzy's hair and body.

As for body swap, it might be the same but might need more data than for instance, swapping an armor. If we are able to do it though I will definitely love to play with that, as it allowed us to do so much good stuff on Mass Effect 3 mods, like putting Thane in the last Normandy scene (body swap with EDI).

oh wow it's been a while. lets see if can remember this correctly. we had a tool that can extract meshes and textures from .erf files and and import/export script for Lightwave that allowed us to edit existing meshes (sadly we couldn't add custom meshes) and then pack it back into .erf files with the tool. think you can find everything here http://forum.bioware...-modding-tools/

Just out of interest do any of you think it would be possible to add more hair tints to the game? It seems like it would be a simple-ish thing to do in my head, just adding more data to the hair colour section of the CC, but not being a coder I can imagine my mind is horrendously over simplifying things. :P

@Renmiri1 - I think is good because who ever did it just posted the links, not the tool/file, also adds more visibility to the wonderful work that all of you are doing.

Is a very well known website, maybe people looking after DAI modding info will see it and add some more modders to help the project.
