its not about  the fake characters .... its about  the messed up things that racists cant even accept  a character for who they are even in a game.. that's whats fuked up about it, that's why  many ppl are raging..... its just freaking wrong

 

as i said makeup and hairstyles is one thing but the ladder .. is... just...... yea i think im gonna end this discussion here 

 

Of course there is always going to be people who are racist, but I see no harm in changing the appearance, including skin color, of a fictional character. There doesnt have to be anything racist about it. Mods that change body type, boob size, ect are all doing the same thing. I guess some people just have absolutely no tolerance for that type of stuff.

 

For me personally, from a role playing perspective I agree that I would never be interested in such a mod, but I certainly don't think everyone who is, is automatically a racist.

These aren't the actual IK controls themselves, they are parameters that are fed into the IK controls under specific set of circumstances. All IK controls are stored in the *.ant files along side the animations. Still indecipherable at this time.

 

 

The second list here are animation types that are pulled from the *.ant files so that they can be referenced in other EBX files, they are pretty much just pointers, they hold no valuable information themselves

yea i figured as much.. may i ask , what is the progress on the FBX files? and if they are gonna hold  "default/idle " animations including IK  controls?

 

if they only hold skeletal and animation information that's fine we (or at least I ) wouldn't need IK controls if the skeleton is already animated... i just need a  "test" animation to see if my hair clips

 

the IK controls would have been useful to make custom test animation if the tools would not provide the existing animations from the game

IK Controls will most likely never be exported, they are usually very game specific and not 3d package friendly, but will see once the ant files are at least readable. FBX files are still a whiles away (The FBX format is not very nice).

Thank you for the answer, and take your time, i know it can be a pain in the arse with that kind of conversion, if fbx is a pain, see if collada is any easier? Or some other format that's easier for you guys as long as you provide a script to import it into a 3d software...

 

Sorry if I sound like a douche for asking this... I, and im sure other 3d artists just want to get their meshes into the game and not clip while the pc moves around... :unsure:

Body types are not exactly  "racist" Body types deffer from person to person regardless of what race you are... african american, white, hispanic or asian can be a large size, you can be african american , white , hispanic or asian and be slim  OR  you can be african american, asian, hispanic or white and be "medium sized"

Body types  doesn't rely on what race you are.

Personally I am very sensitive about this issue, when i see ppl requesting  characters (even if they are fictional) to change their skin color THAT to me shows that some ppl can't accept others for who they are regardless of their skin color, I have a lot of friends who are african american and hispanic and are getting treated like dirt sometimes, because of who/how they look like, it just pisse.s the hell out of me..  when i see such request :angry: GUESS WHAT!!!!  PPL WITH DIFFERENT  SKINTONES ARE STILL PPL!!!!

Well who else do u think download's those kinds of mods? I saw so called "artwork" of someone white washing Viviene and to me that just felt super wrong. That's just goes to show u how utterly silly ppl can be about other races  and about not accepting ppl for who and what they are THAT just makes me sick to my stomach.. and no u cant just brush that off as "role playing" that's  just straight  up racism im not very good at sugar coating things i just say things as they are if ppl don't like it whatever, its fine i don't really give a damn, but i stand for what i think is right we dont live in the '50/60's  anymore its time for a goddamn change and acceptance

While rigging mesh i noticed something.

All bone names are mirrored like bone named rightupperarm is actually left arm. Does it have to do something with exporter? if so, is it fine to rig meshes now, wont we have troubles when we put them in game?

nope. we can only swap textures thru HEX editing. importing a DDS texture doesn't work because it doesn't get converted back to itexture format. 

version 40 should allow it, but i have spent the whole afternoon trying and haven't got it to work yet

 

The tool reads itexture and makes dds for export/ previews  AND does the dds to itexture conversion for import.

Really? I have read nothing on v40 allowing importing of DDS textures. Its still completely HEX based. v40 was about exporting groups of EBX to XML.

Solas head, elf male body, elf female body, Calpernia head/armour, Abelas armour, even nug model.

it wouldn't  surprise me if its mirrored its much more easier in modeling as well as rigging, its a heck of a time saver

usually ppl who model stuff (such as characters) they usually mirror the geometry,  IF by any chance they used a biped/CAT skeleton they would have mirrored the weights as well .

 

One thing that im puzzled about is the extra bones for the facial expressions.. idk if those were meant tho be morphs and they got translated in to bones instead or what?

no name. no cat entry and no chunk data. maybe you know what the issue is?

Looks to be the skeleton is positioned that way. I will take a look at a raw skeleton and see, as I am reading them exactly as they are laid out in the EBX files. If its skinning correctly (Which it is) then the skeleton is flipped for some strange reason.

They use FaceFX for facial animations, which doesn't use morphs (Or uses a combination of morphs and bones).

RES Explorer doesn't look to the chunks0.toc for chunks it can't find in its own bundle. So it will not be able to export those, you will need to use the Bundle Explorer.

Read the tutorial, but use bundle explorer instead of res explorer. it is pretty straight forward.

I played blondie-bastilla, or long-haired blue eyes morrigan - its mods, when u playing game 200+ hours its pretty good to make some changes :)

 

so waht about model swapper, it still didnt get any answer...

Dont u think it rather... eem, racistic? Why i cant wish female npcs to look how I LIKE? Its my savegame ia ma not torture anyone to play same way.

 

 

I mean what the hell, why some ppl CAN enjoy romance options, coz they like how npc looks, and i CANT coz i dont like how npc looks? Do i worse coz of my colour skin? isnt it racism?

Off topic : what DA:I needs at the moment is more modders to help enchance the game or help each others and nerfing potentional modders with sad topics won't help. Let's keep a free mind about modding, that's the beauty of it, imo.

 

On topic :  I already said it on another forum but I think that's a beautiful thing that you're working on such a tool and want to share it. As someone who know nothing about modding, it's painfull to not be able to understand what' going on in details but I still supporting you guys/girls. :wub:
