Off topic : what DA:I needs at the moment is more modders to help enchance the game or help each others and nerfing potentional modders with sad topics won't help. Let's keep a free mind about modding, that's the beauty of it, imo.

 

On topic :  I already said it on another forum but I think that's a beautiful thing that you're working on such a tool and want to share it. As someone who know nothing about modding, it's painfull to not be able to understand what' going on in details but I still supporting you guys/girls. :wub:

 

I guess almost every1 here potentioal modders :) I modding since kotor, so i hope to start re-texturing game soon :)

Really nice render though!  Though the scene to me looks like he's shocked his staff is exploding from a nug touching it. That's one powerful nug!  His eyes are really epic, looks like he is tearing up @_@

hey Renmiri i'm having some issues with the rigged mesh export. i posted on the daitools forums in your tutorial thread. maybe you can help me.

I've been following this topic & project for some time from the sidelines, great works guys! You're super talented  :P

 

If anyone is still taking ideas and request I'd have one for qunari ladies...
Maybe something like this (original post @ tumblr)? Like a bigger, more loose, messier bun than the sorry mudbun we have in game now. Would love something like this, that is both practical (tied up) but still obviously long as the concept art has shown us. And tbh, anything with an undercut.

I already have ideas for retextures of the skyhold jammies but I'm still struggling to get the textures and models extracted. I'll try and help test out that new tool once I've got something to work with.

Great work so far on hairs and all, can't wait till they can be put in game :( I can't play the game as is... they are soooo ugly >.< no good female hairs and it's near impossible to make the female faces look good with the hair selection as well. :( so will wait...

The good thing is, you can view all textures in the designated folder (ie. much like my old extractors) and preview each texture. Only part missing is exporting an individual texture, but I figured out other tool does that, and people ar emuch more interested in import mechanics, then repeating export

Sounds good.  I agree  that there'a no reason to do an all in one tool, when we got plenty of others for extraction.  Honestly its nice to export individually,  but any serious modder will have all the game files extracted anyways.  The nice part about the DAI tool is you can at least see where each file goes.

As a black man and someone who has experienced racism first-hand, I find the people that get upset over unimportant things like modding the skin color of a character are almost always white.  I don't need anybody to be offended for me.  If I care, I'll say so myself.  Personally, I like white girls.  That's one of the reasons I love Bioware games. Maybe I'll use a white Vivian mod.  ;D

 

I am working on some new face textures for the inquisitor.  I should have the female done before too long.  I'm not sure how well they will blend with the body textures in love scenes, but other than that they should be a huge improvement over the very bland default textures.

This is awesome! btw will this replace existing textures or can we add additional textures, like say i want to add a new face complexion/skin to the slider without overriding the existing ones, do we need to do something else to acheave that?

Replacement only, to add new textures would need the ability to edit EBX files, which we cannot do easily. Also you would need to know what EBX files to edit to be able to add complexions and such.

I mean it should be easier then new modelling, coz u don't need any skeleton or animation import export. All we need to explore how meshes attached to items

No we are not very close, texture swapping was in the end very difficult to achieve, lots of sizes and offsets, meshes are even worse, especially when dealing with multiple chunks, and still too many unknowns to be able to successfully build a mesh resource. Unless your talking about swapping meshes that already exist in game, then we are no closer on that avenue either, since that requires EBX editing as well.
