yea.... it doesn't have a "repair" feature... i had to re install it... cause my game didn't even launched anymore...
just so i wont mess it up the 2nd time.. where should i put the modified patch?
just for future reference Adela if you need to repair the game files just go to Origin right click on Inquisition and Verify Game Files. that will scan the game and repair it if it needs to.
K, with the current update of the file Ehamloptiran linked I finally got it working! Now to decide on what texture to mess with ;p
having the same "can't run it" issue as you Silvist. so it works for you now? i'll try installing the DirectX SDK two.
and i did get the latest files from Eha's link.
@OriginOfWaves - Yea, I installed that plus slimdx x86 and x64. Eham had released 3 different versions so far, not sure if you got the one on the 3rd page. So far the last one was the only one that worked for me.
let me know after you guys patch stuff if you can see it in game
@Adela - Yea I'll try to get a screenie. Though so far I failed to recolor the pjs. So I'm just trying a simple retex to see if I can even get it to show up.
Edit:
Nvm, got it to work!

HOWWW DID U DO ITT???
@Adela - Magic! Lol..well actually I just had to test it a couple times. So first thing you have to do is make sure when you save to patch, you just save it where it popups up. Do not try and move where it saves, that's basically what screwed up my patch originally.
All I did was go to da3\actors\inquisitorjill\appearances\var2\textures, and replaced all of the _inquisitor_var2_core_0111_d.dds.
So steps are. Find the file you want to replace. Since we can only do textures, go to the texture and look below in the lower left window. Double click the texture name you want to replace. It should open an asset preview box. You can preview it if you want to double check its the right texture. Otherwise, just hit replace in the upper left corner. Navigate to the file, and click it. If its the right format, it'll say it's successful.
All you have to do after that is go to the upper left corner of the main tool and click file > save to patch. Like i said above, do not change its save path. It'll take a min or so to do all the required actions. Afterwards it'll spit out two things. A package.mft, and data folder. Back up your current package.mft, and data folder located:
Origin Games\Dragon Age Inquisition\Update\Patch
Then just copy the files over to that spot, and your all ready to go ![]()

I'm SOOOO going to try this!! ![]()

but Eham said to not replace the existing patch.. thats why i had to reinstall my game in the 1st place cause thats what i did the 1st time and it still didnt show in game
does it work only for clothing? also for some reason whenever i patch it i dont get the pakage.mft i only get the data folder.. wtf been spending all day to try and figure this out and its still not working
@Adela - Hmm, well you are also on a different version of the game than I am. For me I just backup the entire update folder. That way when I want to get rid of any modifications I do, I just paste it back over.
Now, if you were silly like me when Eham uploaded his Cullen file....I kinda overrided the files outside of the update folder, in the normal data folder. That is a big NO! All you are touching is the files in the update folder aka:
Origin Games\Dragon Age Inquisition\Update
Do not copy any patch to this:
Origin Games\Dragon Age Inquisition
Why? Because there is two different data folders...
If you override the base data folder, your game will obviously not work lol.
Edit:
Hmm, that's really interesting. Because when I modified the default save path for the patch file, I got the package.mft, but no data folder ;p
You can modify more than just clothes. I did my characters face as a test, and it worked just fine. Though, loading time seemed to increase a bit lol.
Did you download his latest version on the 3rd page of the thread?
Hi there, i have been following this group with interest for some time and i applaud the progress you all are making, and i have only a couple of quick questions:
1) Do any of you intend to fully repair skyhold at some point? (those holes in the wallare bugging me everytime i go past them.
2) would it be possible to "upgrade" the regular grunts? Kinda feel that they look shabby with their wooden shields and exposed armour.
what do u mean a different version? also i did put it in the update folder?
@Adela - Copy these files over your current tools:
I just wanted to make sure you put it in the update folder ;p
@silvist yea i just downloaded the new version and ive been doing what u said earlier all day and i still cant see stuff like i been trying to put a face texture for the human female and i dont see it in the cc at all
@Adela - Did you try to preview the mesh with the edit while in the program to verify? I'm talking inside of the importer.
Also make sure you save your texture to the right format. I actually generated mips.
Hmm, I'm not sure if we have access to the cc event yet. I assume its part of its own instance. So unless its modified there, you won't see it. Have you tested it outside the Cc?
Like just make a random character with the known texture your replacing, and try a different area. Otherwise, its possible that if all areas aren't updated, maybe the change won't appear.
Which would really suck. I'm sorry you're having all these issues ; ; You know I'd love to see your work in action in game ![]()
yea the texture shows up in preview with the mesh and i also saved it as dds DXT5 i hand no problems with replacing the texture just when patching it and i put it in the update folder it just doesnt show up in game
btw u said that u did a face texture too did it appear in the cc or did it just appear in one of your saved games?
@Adela - In one of my saved games. Nothing as impressive as yours ;p. I simply just changed a couple tones to see if it would work.
@Kiitosu - that's why I spent so much time making it work lol. Though, I did make sure to take a break and play some DA:I.
Judging in armor is indeed more cooler
aaaah i've checked the Cheat Enginge updates regularely, and of couse once i don't do it for some days they sneak in Skyhold clothes replacer. thanks for bringin it to my attention ![]()
@Adela - Yea I'll try to get a screenie. Though so far I failed to recolor the pjs. So I'm just trying a simple retex to see if I can even get it to show up.

Nvm, got it to work!
