Breakdown just means a list, so the above is fine, can you please upload your Data\layout.toc somewhere?

Thanks, taking a look now.
And for everyone else, just to clarify, Do not replace your patch with the saved patch, the saved patch has all the contents of the existing patch in it, but should be put in a folder a long side the existing patch (Something like Patch2). It is set to override in game, also just to be on the safe side, you should backup all your existing files before doing any kind of manipulations.

Does someone have a copy of the Skyhold PJ texture they can share? I don't have room/toddler-free time to extract things but I want to give retexturing it a shot. Can't be any worse than Skyrim retexturing!

If you figure it out, please write a tutorial, will you?? ![]()
Did you check this ?
Yes. There are some instructions there but it doesn't seem to be correct. There is a link to another post on the subject but that doesn't seem to work either. I have a feeling I am missing some step from some other post that I should probably know about but missed.
Hi all, sorry had to get some sleep, had been up for over 24 hours before. When reporting there is a problem with my tool ie. crashing or incomplete scan. Please provide the number of assets it did claim to find, and also a breakdown of the files in your Data\Win32 directory.
I haven't found any error messages. using the first way to export posted on your site, the export function says done but then nothing gets exported. This post...

Using the second method, which you linked to in the post on exporting textures, exports meshes for me but no textures. I have a feeling I have missed some step along the way. That's why I was hoping to get a single post explanation for exporting and importing textures. Or at least a consolidated thread on the subject that isn't 700 posts long lol. That would most likely resolve whatever I have missed.

I wrote the above in relation my Research tool, not the main set of tools, as for exporting textures, using DA_Tools.
1. Open Bundle Explorer
2. Open one of the .SB files. When prompted to locate your cas.cat (<DragonAgeInstall>\Data\cas.cat)
3. Search the bundles on the left hand side and the resources on the right hand side (Res tab) till you find a texture. There is a search option, if you hit find next, it will jump to the next texture.
4. With the texture selected. Go to Transfer -> Export Resource.
5. Save out DDS file and open in your favourite editing program.

Version 3 ![]()

Amazing work guys, just wanted to say hi and really looking forward to the breakthrough on the supposedly un-modable Frostbite 3 Engine ![]()
Just a quick question, has anyone figured out how to simply swap Meshes for armor?
In other words make a Orlesian Helmet have the appearance of a Warden Helmet?
Thanks!
Found a total of 174226 new assets.
That sounds about right.
Yes, I found a dagger / sword I wanna play with but first I want to see how to find it in game

First, many thanks to Warranty voider, Ehamloptiran, and everyone else involved for taking the time to develop this toolset for the community.
Has there had been any progress in determining which game assets ( i.e. file types ) are used to determine weapon, armor, and spell stats ( e.g. damage, range, magic effects, etc. )? If so, can these assets be extracted, modified, and "recompiled" for use in game utilizing the existing tools?

Well the theory would go:
1. Modify DA3/Equipment/Items/Armors/Helms/Heavy/equip_helmet_heavy_t3_1 which is the orlesian helmet EquipItemAsset
2. Change the EquipItemAppearance to point to da3/equipment/appearances/armors/helmets/complete/item_app_armor_heavy_helmet_6 which is the warden helmets ItemAppearance
3. Repackage to patch and run
Unfortunately tho, for the moment, there is no way to modify these assets, as they cannot be repackaged at this time.

Good work.
Has anyone figured out how to export all the dialogue from the game? I remember something earlier in the thread about another group of people doing this, but I didn't know if this was a serious thing, or just a throw away comment.
DA_Tools can do that, open loctext/en.sb and under the res tab, you will find .talktable assets, export them to text and there you go.
@Ehamloptiran
Can i bug you one more time? >.>
What do i do incase .mft doesn't want to appear when saving?
You can copy Update\Patch\package.mft from DAI, paste it into Update\<YourPatch> (Replace <YourPatch> with the name of your patch folder) and then edit it with a notepad program (Notepad++ preferred) and change Version from whatever it is, to whatever it is plus one (So if it was 3, change it to 4). But also make sure the following files also exist:
Data\Win32 (Folder)
Data\cas.cat
Data\cas_01.cas
Data\initfs_Win32
Data\layout.toc
EDIT: Also make sure you check one directory up. The package.mft is saved in the root directory where you chose to save, where as all other files are saved in Data. So in your root Directory you should have:
Data (Folder)
package.mft
So if initfs_Win32 and layout.toc are not there can i simly copy them from patch forlder?
I followed your instructions Ehamloptrian, thanks for that. Is there a way to get the actual audio files too. I'd like to make a soundboard like I did with Mass Effect 3.

Not yet, I have the code to do so, just haven't written it into the main tool yet
