@OriginOfWaves so u have this problem too? Is there a way to fix it?

yep same problem. the only way to fix it is to do a UV Unwrap of the entire model with new UV seams and of course make new textures or at least edit the existing textures to fit the new UVs.

@kiitosu  hey have u tried the base nude for HM  for the torso with the maps?  the defuse looks very weaid you can see the seams from the arms and torso is there a fix for that? also do HM and HF  share the same UVS?

Looks fine for me. As for female stuff, no idea, did not check.

Do you have Gamma/Lut correction enable? That might be the problem (if you have applied normal bump)

@ladyofpayne lol we're all happy for you but i think you're a bit obsessed with the guy.  :lol:

 

@Adela the same is true for the qunari base mesh, really bad seams and shared textures with the male qunari. As far as i know UVs aren't shared just the texture, it's split into 2 separate parts. weird thing is that i don't think that you can see the seams in the game (during sex scenes).

 

@Ehamloptiran saw you mentioning something that we can't import normal maps yet. just wondering why is that? aren't they usually DXT5 format two?

 

Nothing wrong with a little obsession. I for one know if it wasn't for that I'd never have started on modding. Not that I'm obsessed or anything ** cough **  :whistle:

There is a mod in Nexxus with new jammies already!
 
The mod does everything for the user and is using EH's texture rreplacer. Check it out.

Do you have Gamma/Lut correction enable? That might be the problem (if you have applied normal bump)

i had it desableled but its weird when i enable it it looks like this but the head texture seems to be darker then the body now... what the hell  :lol:  :lol:  :lol: (ignore the pink hair :P)

My pc died before I could save the screenshot, I will show where the problem is as soon as I redo the scene ._.
Also gamma correction is baaaaaad in some cases. I am actually not sure myself, but I had lots of troubles with materials while it was enabled

yea i know i read that in the newer versions of max gamma messes up ur normals for some reason, it didn't had this problem with max 2010  i guess it also has to do with the new nitros view port?

@Adela - I noticed the default nude textures only match the default races, not really the npcs.  At least from what I've tried and experienced.

@Adela - thanks! I've followed those steps but I must have messed something up, because this is what I get:

Ok so, after trying a bunch of different exports with the same result, I dug around to see if the head was really in there, just covered up, and it looks like it was. I ended up deleting a bunch of stuff (in the left panel below) and it left me with the head!

So I can work with this right? Start building hair on top of the head?

yea i know i read that in the newer versions of max gamma messes up ur normals for some reason, it didn't had this problem with max 2010  i guess it also has to do with the new nitros view port? 

No idea to be honest. Nitrous is neat but also so laggy, using it coz i draw textures a lot.

I remember i was about to rage quit seeing broken normal maps, but googled and surprised that was due gamma box being checked, i never turn it on since then lol.

And now

Same mesh/diffuse/normal. Different material settings. Left one is not correct for sure, other two seem fine, but i like middle one better.

@Kiitosu- Woah, that's nuts!  What format are you guys using for normal maps?  Does the tool extract ones that are recognizable by 3ds max yet?  I just converted them to png for the time being.

Soon as I'm done making this huge amount of pasta, I plan to try and convert another armor to female elf.  Especially now that when I used a skin mesh it flipped 180 degrees ; ;

 

@Adela - Good point.  I think I only saw it with Solas and Dorians face textures.   I'll take a look at Cullen.  I'm also using 3ds max 2013.

They do match uvw wise , but not color, since PC player skin ment to be tinted. Npc textures are custom and not tinted. In my opinion >.> I mean, i'm not sure, but think so, yea  :rolleyes:

@soragrey you might also need the body if you are planning on making longer hair  just to shape it along the body and skin it as well

@Adela Oh good point! Yes I would like longer hair, somehow, if I can manage to make something that doesn't clip too much. So I just import another body mesh and it will bring it in the same way?

Use normal bump, not just bump. Play with channel directions and methods to find best one

@Adela - Where did you find the human male nude body mesh at?  I have all the textures dumped, and I do not see a unique texture for Cullen's body texture.  I have to agree with Kiitosu that he uses a different tint than the default human male, but I want to test again to make sure.

 

Its also possible its related to how tints work in the frostbite engine, and we could still be missing some kind of key data for this. 

 

Also from what I could tell using m-ray to say blinn for texture base, the only thing I noticed was the textures seemed more rigid.

 

Found the body, it was in itemappearances_00 as well.  It has Cullen's tint map there with it lol.
