Finally. Only took like two weeks to figure out how to get this far, lol!!

 

Please tell me I can start working on hair now. My plan is to youtube "making poly hair in 3ds" and try to follow along.

Lol, still can't find the human male skeleton, but Renmiri at least pointed me into the right sb..at least I hope so @_@

 

What's really odd is one of the file names I saw in global.sb is arcanewarrior...like actual attacks for it.  I wonder if arcanewarrior = knight enchanter..or if its not implemented.

 

I really hope WV or Eham makes a nice sort function, cause that would be a godsend @_@

@Adela - Where did you find the human male nude body mesh at?  I have all the textures dumped, and I do not see a unique texture for Cullen's body texture.  I have to agree with Kiitosu that he uses a different tint than the default human male, but I want to test again to make sure.

 

Its also possible its related to how tints work in the frostbite engine, and we could still be missing some kind of key data for this. 

 

Also from what I could tell using m-ray to say blinn for texture base, the only thing I noticed was the textures seemed more rigid.

 

Found the body, it was in itemappearances_00 as well.  It has Cullen's tint map there with it lol.

Now to find the skeleton..hmm.

human skeleton is in globals.sb, i couldnt find it, there are so many options to scroll, but i got it from there when used ebx to xml option. 

 

As for materials, i agree, blinn is fine. e.g. -

Head looks better with bitmap <_< but body looks flat, fine with me since it doesn't show much skin in my case. I don't really know how to use normal bump in 3d max, it's complicated, to be honest.

And i had to edit body skin texture to match the head. Coz of those tints.

I love following this group; I read every post. Have no idea what's going on, but I love seeing you all work together <3 :D It is an inspiration and makes me appreciate all the mods I've ever used in games. Can't wait to start using them for DAI (but am beyond patient!) <3

Use normal bump, not just bump. Play with channel directions and methods to find best one

@Kiitosu - Yea, I've sorted through it, but I've yet to see da3/animations in the ebx portion.  I swore I've seen it elsewhere, but that's what i get for not jotting it down lol.

 

As for your normal maps, you seem like you are using them the way they are intended.  The only thing I noticed was setting the intensity of them.  I honestly saw no difference in rendering between 100%, and 50%.  Using Adela's suggestion of M-ray, it starts at like 0.3 and goes to 1.0  Again I saw no difference.

 

@WV - That's awesome sauce man!  I plan to play around with that tool soon as I find the darn human male skeleton.  I really want to find the bard music @_@

 

Speaking of which i found a file named:

 

sockets_ef in the path

 

da3/animations/elf/adultfemale

 

I guess its the eyelid bones or what controls opening and closing of the eyes @_@

 

I also played around with the skeletons, they are pose able to a degree.  Just there's so many bones, its kinda nuts.

I did find a very odd skeleton named ef_master_skeleton.  It was under chargen.  I was thinking that maybe I could find a human skeleton under one of the human male romance scenes, like Dorian or Cullen.

 

Actually I have an idea.  I noticed when I extracted a head mesh, it took the entire skeleton of that race/sex.  Gonna try that with human male.

This probably doesn't help unless you can rig it lol.  I wouldn't have had to manually search for the skeleton if when exporting the male human mesh it searched for it.  Instead of it searching it seemed to instantly ask me to provide an ebx file.  

 

I posted this issue on the forums in hope they can find out what's going on.

@Chaos17 - Thanks for the heads up, it could be a gray area.  I think the biggest concern would be making mods to give you items from the collectors edition, and what not.  Any item that's exclusively paid for.

 

I'd have to look up the actual laws involved with this, but I'm pretty sure they are quite broad.  Even though we own the game, it is there assets regardless.  As long as we aren't tampering with it by making profits, or hurting their profits..they probably won't care.

 

I have a feeling that you could probably unlock or swap those somehow with the cheat engine, so I'm sure its already been done.

 

Most of what I quickly looked at are actually enemy armors.  I've seen them in game being worn by either enemies, or non essential npcs in the inquisition.

 

More or less that's why its always better to make all of your own content from scratch, because that gives you 100% ownership lol.  This though, is not easy to do, which is why you always see more ports over completely new armor.  I know first hand how challenging it is making your own custom armor from ground up.

 

I can also confirm what Kiitosu is saying, the multiplayer assets are all separated into folders and files named accordingly.  They have there own sb and toc files.

@Kiitosu - I'm not sure if this is actually how its listed for the devs.  If it is, I feel sorry for anyone working on this game.  They must have roadmaps made by the insane person who decided to randomly scatter pieces of files all over the place.  Its probably the most disorganized game I've ever looked at, quite frightening lol!  I'm not sure if its due to them inserting all of their content into frostbite 3 or what.  That could be the real reason behind DICE's claim that frostbite 3 is unmoddable...because its just a disorganized nightmare!

I saw a lot of  entries for skeletons in every single .sb, but no entries for male human skeleton, weird. That is enough to guess there is something wrong with people who packed all the data lol

Finding files is challenging, but, don't you agree, you feel happy when you finally find something you needed  :lol:

so it seems that when u apply the normal map on the body, it only applys to the arms and legs but not the torso, witch gives it that nasty seam, the arms and legs do seem to have the same "skin tone" as Cullen head, but the rest of the torso is just pale and plain.. im not quite sure  why  the torso doesn't  "read the normal map... very odd

They have updated the modding tool now? so it's better to distribute?

I haven't updated mine yet, so I'd do that first :)
