I have enough problems with ear hair IRL, I don't need it pouring our of my Inquisitor's ear too.

A few in game pics. I'll stop spamming the thread with these now I promise.

Those eye brows look great, Jack!  :)

About the hair clipping through the ears: move the ears (mainly ear position slider, ear size slider may help, too)  to get rid of it  ^_^

@mrjack - Looks great!

Thanks. Not quite perfect yet. I think I need to play with the spec more but I've had enough for now.

I had to layer the elf male and human female diffs, norms and specs just to get a single texture to put the bloody brows on. It took me half a day to figure out that was what the game was doing.

See my testing:

I'm not sure about female characters but for human males with the head shape in that screenshot, the only way to get rid of clipping with most hairs is to lower the ears really far, make them huge and have them stick out at a 90 degree angle. It looks ridiculous and on that particular style, the ear on the other side sticks out through the hair.

It's frustrating...

I'm very much excited about trying out mesh-swap when it becomes available, but I'm actually very happy with the way my elven Inquisitor looks like without mods :) would like other eye-brows, though...

There would be a lot of grateful people if you did :D

No-one seems to want to mod for male characters. It's why I got into it. I wanted to make a decent looking Shepard and there was just nothing out there. I'm just a beginner though. When I look at some of the texture work that seasoned modders produce, I'm in awe. I just got a a spanking new graphics tablet for Christmas so I'm gonna start taking it more seriously.

Thank you! I will definatley work on it (at a later time, right now I am doing qunari female).

I guess females are more popular to play, I mean I started on female textures because that is what I play and what I wanted. So I don't think that people don't want to mod males, it's just not what they prefer to play. But I will atleast make 1 texture for each race and gender. And if later on we can import as new complexions rather than overwrite I will probably make more. And DAI is actually the first game I ever modded, I guess I started playing other games so late that there was already so many mods available I never looked into it before. But I do enjoy it alot and it's so much fun.

Can't wait to see your finished product! :D

Yeah I don't think that's the reason why some don't play males. Reason is in most cases quite a bit different and quite a bit more silly. In any case, I only play male chars, never saw any appeal to play female chars. Guess I keep my eyes fixated in other areas then so many others.. But unfortunately yes, so many mods are being done for female chars and so little for male chars and some which are done are just.. unfortunate. Makes me wish I had any skill in this area myself, but alas.

@Whailor, I am not even sure if you replied to me (but if you were) I am not sure if I am misunderstanding you or you are misunderstanding me.

I never mentioned any reason why some don't play males, just why I thought there are more mods for females, when I watch in the thread where people post pics of their inquisitors there is alot more females than males and that's why I thnik there are more mods for females, they are more popular.

I think he was just pointing out that a lot of guys play female characters so they can mod them to look sexy and then... I don't know... perv over them or something. Which must be the case when you look at some of the stuff on Skyrim Nexus. It's like they're trying to create the perfect virtual girl.

The upside to it is that the more tasteful modders create some really great stuff for people who just want to play a female character because they identify with her.

To be fair, a lot of (most?) of the mods made to make females look "sexy" are mods made by females. And for skyrim there are just as many mods to make males beautiful as well.

Personally I play female characters in RPGs as a male because the story is almost always more interesting with a female saving the world. And its... more interesting when said female is also attractive. That being said, running around the world fighting monsters in plate bikinis and yoga pants isn't something I'm interested in. Although, it is kind of hilarious, and I'm glad it exists.

Back on topic, I made a post on the daitools forums about save game files, figured the more eyes, the better:

If anyone has any input or additional info I would like to know, really want to start getting into editing face/hair in save files. I know a lot of people want it, in a game that has 200 hours of content.

Ok, well I am not personally interested in such mods, but everyone have different tastes and preferences so it's good that they exist for people who does want to play the game that way. And I think alot of people try to create the "perfect girl" when they play, I do that too (most of the time, I am female and am interested in guys though), just my perfect is not everyones perfect.

On topic, I been working on some thicker eyebrows for the female elves.

I'm going to assume the hair colors are shaders too. I looked at eyelashes and hair textures.

Apparently the Cheat Engine guys found a way to change hair colors

I never understood the Glamazon appeal. Yes, I am female, play female characters, and I do like them to look pretty, but to have my character running around in whatever game I'm playing with topless or skimpy armor? Puh-lease. A true warrior is gonna have armor. The nip covering fur patch isn't going to protect you very much against any enemy, tyvm. :P

It depends what complexion you're going for. Most of the textures in the complexion lineup are single textures but the first, 9th and 17th are a blend of em_hed_bas and hf_fed_bas. I didn't want to put eyebrows on a complexion I didn't like. The other complexions only use single textures so it would have been easier but I guess I had to make it more complicated for myself.

Of all the hair in the entire game, on the head, brows, lashes, etc...  I think Varric's chest hair is the most realistic looking. Sad that they probably spent more time on that than anything, don't ya think?

Sadly this is true, but his chest hair does look great though.
