@Rabbitonfire - Sadly, the nexus isn't what it used to be ever since Skyrim. It drew alot of trolls, that for some reason still lurk on the mod pages just to troll people. The nexus staff is not what it used to be, and don't back modders as much as they should. I've had my fair share of trolls, which is actually why I stopped uploading most of my work there.
People don't seem to get the idea that you are uploading your work for free download, and usage. The actual comment page used to only be used for troubleshooting, and perhaps simple questions. Ever since skyrim there's been a huge influx of people begging, criticizing, and telling modders what they should do with "their" own mods. (Honestly if I wanted advise or suggestions...I'd probably have a suggestion box lol).
Recently I found a post on a mod for skyrim called Live Another Life (one of my favorite mods), by Arthmoor. He basically said exactly what crosses my mind when someone insults or tells you how to make your mod a certain way. He said something like "Let me get this straight, you aren't satisfied with the mod. So here's your refund. Oh wait, it was free.."
Either case, the only reason people even post mods up on the Nexus anymore is because of two main reasons: Well known, and stable. Other than that, the community is awful. Or at least when I compare it to the days of Oblivion and DAO. So honestly, alot of mod authors I know decided it would be better to release their work on a blog to avoid such things. I also know alot of smaller forums, that host alot of in house mods. One was actually established by most of the most well known modders of Bethesda games.
So as a mod author myself, I completely understand what other mod authors have to go through. What drives me nuts is when people have the audacity to ask me to change something. Why? Simple; when I wanted to change something in a certain authors work...I learned to mod myself. Shocking I know ^^
@Kamael - *whistles* Wow, that's one helluva a retexture lol. I almost didn't recognize the fact it was the starting armor, until you said so lol. (almost thought it was a mesh replacement lol). But then again I've always praised people like you for being able to do so much with textures. I wish I could master UVmapping, cause I feel with that you could practically take any mesh and redo it however you wanted. I've tried it, but with only a few successes. Once again outstanding work my friend ^^
