@Rabbitonfire - Well, that's the point of having a blog..so you limit the amount of people who actually "find" your work lol. Being popular has its advantages and downfalls; which I why I prefer to remain in the shadows. There is quite alot of forums out there who share mods, that you probably won't find on the nexus always.
One forum I use that does upload to the nexus, is Tesadventures (they do have a bioware section as well). That is the community that was founded by other modders, and majority of the people there are extremely helpful. They don't always use the nexus, some have there own blogs linked from the site itself.
Other forums/communities have come and gone over the years. For a long time I was part of vgunetwork otherwise known as FO3underground. They had a very strict policy for even being able to download any mods on their site. Like you had to be reviewed by a moderator, and based on your posts/threads and participation they would give you the ability.
The way it was setup is you could become a member, but even posting like non stop it would take you at least a month to gain access to downloads (they had very strict criteria for your posts, like you couldn't just write a word or one sentence) . It sucked, but due to the strictness of the forums the members were all very high quality/friendly people.
You can also find alot of modders work on deviantart. Though, some people just post pictures of their work and link blogs from it ;p
@Chaos- I'm not sure what forum you are referring to, it almost sounds like LL. If it is LL I was a part of that since it was founded, and was originally started on a thread on hongfire lol. LL used to be alot better, but sadly went downhill since the admin/moderators changed. They were extremely lax on how people could go about their business, but would ban anyone at the drop of a hat who was being disruptive towards the community. Its no longer like that.
I'm not sure what countries all of you are from, but world wide there's a large amount of modding communities in all different countries. Most of the largest ones I know of are: German, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, and American. I'm sure there's alot more out there I'm not aware of, which is why you have to "look around" lol.
@Rabbitonfire - My warning to you as a fellow modder is don't always try to please everyone. You are doing mods as a hobby (at least the way I see it), and you are free to do with it as you see fit; just like art. I would almost never read comments about my mods, unless it was actually a stated problem with something I needed to actually fix. Most people who use mods, especially on the nexus are very clueless people, especially nowadays. Most people do not read your front page, or any other instructions you may include with the mod to download.
Back when i first started modding you were 'expected' as a 'user' of mods to read the readme files that came with every mod. Otherwise, the modders would just ignore you. Again it seemed harsh, but now a days most people just expect you to spill things out for them over and over again...1000 pages later of the same questions that were already answered. Which is why I only used the comment page for actual "real" reported issues, and compliments. Anything else I learned to just ignore, or report on the spot.
I only responded to requests that were pmed to me in a proper polite fashion. Also, I typically saw the amount of downloads and endorsements of mods never added up. Some modders tried to find unique ways to get people to endorse their work, such as jokes and pictures. The reason some modders care about endorsements is it makes them proud that they've gotten praise for the hard work they've done. On the other hand, I've seen mods that have been downloaded 20k times, but the poor guy only got like 500 endorsements. I realize that alot of people redownload previous mods they liked again...but still sometimes it really doesn't add up.
@Adela - Sorry for being so slow to catch up m'lady. The robe you've been working on looks exquisite! I really like the detail that showed up in the render; like the cloth ruffles/folds on the sides. It may not be as you intended it to turn out..but lol that's how modding works sometimes. I've done alot of work that accidentally came out better than I previously even planned. Such is the way of art ^^
