The scenes in Cole's sidequest, the conversation, its just....damn, Bioware never disappoints in that regard.

Yeah, Cole's VA was really good and made Cole a much better character than I expected him to be. Tikaram was also awesome as Dorian, especially in his story quest. In fact, pretty much every character had great voice overs except Iron Bull and even that only applies when FPJ tried to put on that weird Scottish accent.

I really like vivis vo. She's seemingly a love or hate character but you cant argue she's brilliantly written and acted.

I'm just saying in the start of Cole's sidequest, when he's literally pleading about....things....you feel his frustration and fear, and then when Solas is talking, and later on Varric.....God I love Bioware chars.

I just did that quest last night. I practically felt I was in the place with them, listening to real people talk. It was unbelievable. Some of the dialog could be cut from a Scorcese film when the intensity builds between characters.

All of the companions have good voices, shows you the skill of the voice actors. Bioware sure knows how to pick them.

Great voice work, to be sure.  My favorite performances were from Solas and Dorian.  Sera was great, too.  Everyone was great.    My only gripe was that FPJ's performance was like a rollercoaster to me, definitely uneven.

My husband asked this morning "Does FPJ's VAing get any better the longer you play?" (he was geeking out about a set of headphone I bought for him as an early xmas present so he could hear the game....cause the music....beautiful!)

 

My reply was "No. Just have to learn to ignore him. Read the subtitles and block out him talking, then you'll be fine."

 

So then he goes and looks up FPJ on the tablet for some reason.

 

Get better FPJ. Hope the surgery went well and that recovery is speedy.

Picked Mages last night for my second play through which further convinced me that Leiliana's VA is talented as all f*ck.

BioWare games always have the best voice acting of all games, I think. Just take SWTOR. One of the highlights of that game is that it is fully voiced by an extremely talented, huge cast of voice actors.

Corypheus' in one of the fights. I can't remember exactly what he was shouting but it just sounded so weird. Something about barbarians or something. I had to stop to laugh everytime.

I don't know if the voice acting it self is better than some other games. But it is the way the voices are used.

It feels as if nothing is repeated. It kills a game.

About the sampling of the voices? Technically they are well made I think. They are very clear. Even the outbursts ("ONE DOWN!")

It must be a hard and often long process to work out the proper tonal adjustments for each sentence. I guess many dialogues will be remade many times before they are perfect. Just like in the theater or movies where you have the clapperboard rapidly smashing in front of the camera.

Oh my God, yes.  I was choking up a bit.

 

Also Iron Bull, I got used to and holy hell is he good once you adapt to him.  

 

Honestly I love all the VAs.  Except Sera's, but then, I hate everything about Sera.

Seriously props to all the VAs in this game, I've been blown away with the great job they have done. I'm also in love with the British male voice. It will be tough to pull me away from using that voice to try the other one.

Best voice acting is Vivienne's. Indira Varma nailed that character. Solas is anyway a favorite character of mine, his voice is very well done too. Dorian is someone you would ALWAYS like to be in your party for the banter. Sera is meh.

 

Josephine is someone I'm not yet used to. Her accent just keeps throwing me off. Iron Bull is actually bad.

This. Facial animations are bad even while they are singing.

Dorian and Vivienne especially, but Cassandra, Cole, Leliana, Cullen, and [spoiler?] have all forced me to pause in a conversation for a quick "Whoa. That voice acting  " But that's not to say that everyone isn't fantastic because, you know, they are.

Honestly, I find some characters have better facial animations than others ( [spoiler?]'s animations in particular were a noticeable standout, imo), but on a whole I didn't find them especially egregious.

I could listen to Sera all day. I don't understand half the things she says, I understand the words just can't put them into meaning. But I love listening to her. Also, the first time I met her I was like: "yep, you and me, gurl". And yeah... Before I met her I was afraid that I would not like her at all, the "crazy" part of her that the devs said they given her would maybe annoy me, I was totally wrong.

Yes, VO is just brilliant. Like some people mentioned before- especially Dorian's personal quest. Holy ****, that was gorgeous. I felt like I was watching a good movie. It was so natural, so... real. Just beautiful. Replayed his quest a few times just to watch this again and again... same with Cullen's cutscene when he gets mad because

My favourite scene for the VA so far has got to be the Dorian romance with the British male inquisitor. The whole scene is just incredibly moving, and the VA in a major contribution to that!
