I see a lot of people recommending this skill for an archer but I personally found it quite underwhelming. The escape mechanism isn't really needed if your tank is holding aggro, and you can always use stealth to get out of trouble.

 

Also, the vault backwards slows down your DPS because you're not attacking while in the air and while running back into combat. Finally, the damage itself isn't that high - the only target it would be useful against would be a really large enemy that can get hit by all of the projectiles.

 

What are your guys thoughts on this skill?

I find it useful ( I play on casual only)

 

Only problem with it is when my character lands, what I assume is a glitch/bug, she flies through the air, far away from the battle and alot of the time taking fall damage 

 

I can't use the ability around cliffs or ledges for fear of this

As an Assassin, I use it in conjunction with the Poison Skill Tree Passive, Looked Like It Hurt which gives 10 Stamina for every Crit. Stealth + Any attack = Auto Crit.

 

Leaping Shot hits ~5 times, meaning I get back 50 Stamina. I have it upgraded, so I get a knockdown attack at the end of it, which leads to more Crits as well. I like it more than Long Shot and prefer using to Evade in the Subterfuge tree, which does less damage.

 

Finally, Leaping Shot leads to the mobility Passive in the Archery tree, which I think is great.
