I don't know if anyone knows, but it is possible to not fight any bosses at the Temple of Mythal. You have to make certain decisions on the war table in order for this to happen. For example, you must take the quests to find out more about Calpernia's connection to Corypheus and her previous master Eresthynes(sp?). When you gather all information possible on Calpernia you are given the option to divulge this information to her and she flees, intending to confront Corypheus.

Before you meet her, instead of jumping through the hole, you must do the Mythal Rituals that Morrigan suggests doing (as a safety net of sorts and out of respect for the spirits and such). You must also agree to not use the well with Abelas (I think is his name) so that you do not have to fight the Sentinals. Very little fighting involved through this route, but interesting story progress and details are brought to light. You WILL be able to use the Well of Sorrows, even if you choose this decision because of a sequence of actions taken by Morrigan when you choose this.

I enjoy boss battles and difficult ones as well. I was anticipating a fight, but was mildly surprised that the hardest thing with this route is making decisions throughout and at the end once you reach the Well of Sorrows.

Inversely by siding with the mages and following Cullen's quest arc to it's natural end...

I just watched a video of the fight with the Guardian of Mythal (which I never met) and I thought I missed a whole chunk of the story. Thank you for this!

Who is Calpernia? Oh dear, I seem to have missed a lot by doing these rituals. :( I'll go search.

Don't worry about it, she only shows up if you recruit the Templars

If you side with the templars , you mostly fight mages lead by the Venatori , Calpernia is the Samson of the mage.Cory main general.

It seems picking the templars side is better story wise from what I saw , but Erf...I really like Dorian and it would annoy me to miss his quest at Redcliffe castle.

Mage side also seems to have the more cameos from precious games (King Alistair, Samson)

The Alistair cameo is really a cameo , it's almost pointless .

And why would you not want to kill every idiot that aligns themselves with Corypheus?

Well, in Calpernia's case, she was being used and lied to by Corypheus.

This should be added to her entry on the wiki http://dragonage.wik.../wiki/Calpernia

Notho & Rifneno: Yes. I figured if there was a way to get Calpernia on my side, I would do it because she was being manipulated by Corypheus. I haven't fought Corypheus just yet (currently leveling up so I'm at least a level above him), but If my decision to spare her life actually affects the ending, that would have been fantastic. For example, brought his health down to a degree or something because she went to confront him, but he probably easily killed her when she did this so....eh.

Nidaryn: You're welcome! I was pretty close to not posting this because I thought many others have encountered this (probably have).
