That is great news!

Perhaps it was just a bug? I find that reloading to an earlier save fixes them. For instance, a Red Jenny op disappeared on my War Table, so I had to reload to an earlier point to get it back. Same with that irritating voice bug, always happens when my character meets Hawke.

Hope you enjoyed the romance with her. I'll be looking forward to it, haha. ;)

I got to where I select to show interest and she would say, 'that's nice, let's travel some more'. Which I believe just means she needs more approval before the next step. I kept her in the party and completed many quests in the various regions which return approval/disapproval responses with party members (some not in party) Eventually I got to the point where she gave my character a gift, and I got a quest to ask various companions on giving a gift in return. Shortly after completing that quest, the romance achievement unlocked as we were in a relationship. This was all before going to the Well, which may be needed to trigger her response from that, imo, was very cool.

Yeah I'm very confident that she bugs out for no reason, given I did nothing different. Just walked up to her and said I liked her and instead of getting the "let's travel together" response like I did in my previous save, suddenly she was all for it.

The voice bug has no workaround unless you use the default voice for the race you picked or go with the default Hawke. Major bummer.

Her romance is SO worth it though! You won't be disappointed. Some truly great stuff. She is quickly becoming my favorite character.

That's weird. I got the "full romance scene" before the Well quest. Likely bugged again. Doing her final romance quest (which you say you did) will trigger it. Are you sure it's complete? Did Blackwall... you know... because you need his advice too or it won't trigger.

Jut talking right wont be enough if you made many big decisions she disaproves, but yeah basicly you just need to get her approval high enough and thats it doesnt rly matter if you have her often in your party or not.

@Kris that won't matter much if you focus on the long game. There are a lot of decisions that can build approval. You basically need to get approval high enough so you can trigger the romance. She disapproved of a few things in my run but I've had way more approvals to make up for it.

A few won't ruin it

Flirt with Harding every chance you get, Sera approves over and over. I don't have any problem getting into the romance but I'm on my third try to get the last romance cutscene apparently where you get the achievement. I finished the game once and it gave me the achievement at the end but until I get the last cutscene where Sera shows she cares, I'm going to keep trying.

Extremely bummed. Went to the Well of Sorrows and all romantic dialogue options have disappeared with Sera. I did the prank thing, 1never got to the gift buying quest.

Aaand I have no save points before the Well of Sorrows. I feel like I've wasted oh so many hours of my life. Please tell me this is some kind of glitch that can be patched.

The last bit of approval I got from Sera was when I jumped in the hole after Samson instead of doing the puzzles and then NOTHING. Not even after I let Morrigan drink from the damn well.

Hey pollaxt that's exsctly where I got bugged too. It seems like the Well is a point of no return. My like option / approval checker disappeared after the Well quest too. My only recourse was to jump back 20 hours and try again, and after I did the pranks quest I was able to start the romance on this save.

Sorry man. Hopefully bioware looks into why she locks us late romance peeps out after that story mission.

Well I have figured out what my problem is.

After focusing on getting my approval up, after going to the winter palace mission, I can no longer get any more approval from her and certain other party members, which means I have an unfortunate bug.

Really peeved about this one. I reloaded to an earlier save, I'll give it one more shot but after that I am letting it go.

Screw you Sera for being so damn romance-able!

It honestly seems to me that companion quest lines give enough approval to cancel out anything you've done across the storyline, unless you've made every single decision they disapprove of maybe.

cbowsin, I took vivienne's suggestion but it just seems like it adds flavor to the romance scene rather than having any impactful effect on it.

Scratch that.

Reloaded to an earlier point, went and explored Emprise Di Lion or whatever it is called for a bit, then tried again.

Still nothing, so I chatted her up again. After that, bingo!

From what I can gather, for anybody attempting to romance her but getting into a spot of trouble:

- Get your approval rating to the highest possible.

- Do all of her quests.

- Make sure you talk to her about every single thing you can.

- When you get up to the gift quest, follow Vivienne's advice. It's classic.

If you still get nothing, try reloading it. It's possibly a bug. Oh, and make sure you attempt it before the Temple of Mythal.

I'm at the point with Sera where I'm not sure if we are fully romanced or not. Haven't gotten the achievement on my Origins app yet so i'm assuming no. Which means that after the pranks there were two 'heart' options in our convo and I think I picked the wrong one. I chose the "I like you but lets continue chatting a bit before we do the dirty deed" rather than the one where she said "let's go to your room." I could also be stuck because I've not advanced my main story line yet. Much as I hate to say it, i've been distracted by forum posts :P and playing through side zones rather than continuing thru the main quest line. I still get the option to kiss her every time I see her at her room which leads to a cut scene where she's jammin' her tongue down my throat outside the inn with the balcony where Viv's room is in the background but that's still no clear indicator I've romanced her ...and as I said, without the Origin achievement I'm guessing I truly haven't yet

Same boat here, I can kiss her everytime I come back to Skyhold but i have not seen a progress in a while. I am still about half of the game, therefore I hope that I'll be able to get enough approval points to proceed on further steps and to complete the romance.. I wish there was an approval point bar like we had in DA:O so that we could be able to know whether we are near our objective or we are out of hopes.

Still there is a thing I don't understand.. it seems that once I choose to enter an exclusive relation with her all the flirt options disappeared but Cullen's. When I talk to him I have still the option to ask him "Are you with anyone?". Is this normal?

I had the same issue as everyone else here.  I'm pretty sure I had 100% approval (or whatever it's equivalent is) and even though I'm an elf I pretty much sided with Sera through the entire Mythal event (skipped the walk, denied everything, etc.) and still wound up losing the option to romance her.  Fortunately, I saved right before the temple mission and was able to progress from nothing to full romance very quickly.

It seems no matter what you can't start a romance after Mythal - everyone else is still viable after it - just not her.  I havent run through it again, but hopefully you can continue one with her afterwards though.

Make sure you accept Viv's gift idea :)

I wonder if the Mythal thing is an intentional deal-breaker (no matter what the outcome) or if it's a bug?

I ended up romancing Sera before Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts (after reloading the game, of course) and all I did differently was unlocked all of the major areas (Hissing wastes, Emprise Du Lion, Emerald Graves, etc) and talked to her, clicking the "Are your "friends" still active?" option. Then after that clicked, "I'm interested in you". Finally it worked. I think other than getting your approval level right up there you have to explore the game, but early on rather than later. It seems like the more you progress through the actual story the less of a chance you have.

I haven't got the relationship trophy either. Perhaps there's more to it.

Alright, I had the same problem but figured it out.  The romance is a bit tricky as it won't trigger unless you exhaust all possible conversations with Sera.  If you're getting the "let's travel around" bit from her, then there's something you still need to talk to her about.  I found that after I did her personal quest, (the one where she beats the noble to death) you have to ask her if her group is still active.  This will open up a new conversation about how she believes she inspires people in similar ways than you.  After this conversation, tell her you are interested in her again and the romance quest should start, (the one where you can ask her up to your room).

Hope this helps!

I play a female toon and romanced Sera. I didn't realise you could have a girl/girl romance but you can.  Some of her comments during the bed scene

are histerical.

Ok, so I was stuck at "Let's travel around together..." for the longest time until I finally figured out what was wrong. I'd noticed that Sera approved of my Inquisitor's flirting with Scout Harding, so I did it a couple of times as I unlocked new areas. Mistake!

The solution is to talk to Harding in Skyhold, and assure her that the flirting was harmless (The end relationship dialogue option). After this, you should be able to continue to romance Sera. It would have been nice if there were some kind of conversational clue.

I don't think any Bioware LI likes two timers! Well....perhaps Isabella...and perhaps Jacob if you look at it in a certain way lol

Hey guys, I had the same problem. But I might have a solution.
Done everything I could and no change in approval rating, yet she greets me passionately.
And I thought **** it, if I can't romance with Sera then I might as well kick her out of the inquisition, so I did, at first she will be upset, and let's you decide for the last time if you really want to kick her out, I chose the option to keep her, and you know what? After that I went to talk to her again, and I chose the I'm interest in you option, and I can now invite her to my bed chamber, magic!
Hope that helps, happy gaming guys.

I've hit a problem of a different sorts, probably not as bad as what I've read here but it's starting to grate on me. I actually can't get the scene where she's distressed and talks of her bad dream. I think it's the last romance-related scene you can get with her minus the balcony scene post-final boss. I can do everything from initiating cookies and a kiss scene and I have the option to break up with her so I assume I am with her.

However her tarot card is still her companion quest card and not the romance card of her sitting and looking up, even though I've given her a ~gift~. In fact, the gift quest started right after starting a relationship with her which I found weird. After that nothing changed. Not only that but I can no longer gain approval (and I assume disapproval) from her and I know this since I've completed Wicked Hearts and choices that I know she greatly approves of, did not show. I'm about to start something... Abor Wilds related.

So my question is: is it too late for that bad dream scene to start or does it typically start after Abor Wilds? I've seen glimpses of that scene not wanting to completely spoil myself but it sounds really sweet and was looking forward to it the whole time. The whole reason I made this female Qunari file was to romance Sera and now I feel like it's bugged lmao  b i o w a r e

--------SOLUTION-------

I had this problem, i thought it was bugged or something but it turns out you have a few prerequisites before the romance can start.

1. Make sure you choose decisions which Sera will agree with (this typically includes anti-mage, anti-noble decisions) as this will increase your odds of a romance. Make sure to have frequent saves as you play the game so you can go back if you get negative approval.

2. Try to avoid romancing other characters especially Scout Harding.

3. Make sure your Inquisitor is a female.

4. Complete her personal quest 'A Verchiel March', this triggers through a war table operation. Let Sera kill the noble and remain nice to her in the conversation afterwards.

5. Do pranks with her around Skyhold - you should get this quest when you have high enough approval.

6. This was the problem I had - If you are still getting the line "Let's travel around more", make sure you exchaust every speech option with her in Skyhold except for 'Your not fit for the Inquisition'.

You should now be able to start the romance and have sex etc.

Good Luck - make sure to complete this before the Temple of Mythal quest. It will also be good to do this before the 'Wicked Hearts' quest to get the balcony scene - this is optional though so don't worry if you've already done this quest.
