This problem is another reason we should be able to skip the damn intro after going through it the first time.



Hell, just being able to play around with character creation is a no-go because you have to sit through all the cinematic fluff. This has kept me from multiple play-throughs. Hopefully they will choose to fix this oversight with an update.

I installed it to harddrive and started it up and it worked fine but i accidentally started the game while browsing my imported character's history so i quit to the dashboard to start over, now it freezes right after EA logo, i've reinstalled everything, tried from DVD and from HDD, nothing works, this is f*n bull**** when you pay 90 bucks for a collectors ed.

Yep, I'm trying to import a ME2 character and start playing again and it freezes at the xray skull. PLZ FIX.

ME2, ME1, and any other game would cause the 360 to freeze after I imported my ME1 character to ME2. Once I deleted the save file for it there was no more freezing. And I was able to import my ME1 character with no problem. Thanks for the advice! I was about to go buy a whole new friggin 360.

I had freeze problems too twice so far. Once at the same loading screen where most people had the issue as well but also within the game once. Strangely my Xbox has also done so in the past at the Xbox loading screen where only a hard reboot would fix the issue. And it also recently did the same thing during ME1. I'll try what people here suggested and will clear out the system cache and will then see if that fixes the issue.

installing on the HDD worked for me. i'd also try to resave the file you're trying to import?

Ive been having similar problems, im on my second playthrough, but cant get past that damn skull loading screen, despite having no problems with the first playthrough.

I finished the game already and went in to load my ME2 character for insanity. I played the first game the whole time off the HDD but when I switched to insanity (and turned off autosave) it began to lock up at the skull for me as well. It seems there is no real trigger for this since it happens in a variety of cases. Try changing something before you watch the opening over and over.

Same thing is happening to me. I'D LIKE TO start a new game+ but it keeps freezing up at the yellow skull part. WHY?



I don't mind minor glitches but jeez. I've wasted half the night trying to get this game started.

I had the same issue on my second attempt at a career.



I had finished the game once using an imported ME1 PC and was starting a second using a new female Shepard.



I got to watch the bloody intro 4 times without being able to skip before it crashed, then on the 5th attempt it loaded correctly.

the very first time i played ME2 it froze on me and i must says i ruled out just about everything other than a game bug, go bioware please fix my $60 game that i can't play without wasting hours of my time doing the stupid intro


I have starting a new game > Freeze at skull
I have imported a ME1 charter in the middle of a 3rd run > Freeze at skull
I have imported a ME2 charter after beating game > Freeze at skulll
I have imported a ME2 charter and continued > Freeze at skull

i also have done all of this with different methods, using Disk 2, Disk 1, installing to hard drive, unplugging internet (no EA watching). It just doesn't matter, its clearly a game bug so please Bioware put a patch out to fix this and skip cut scenes.

I just passed the game and tried to start again and had this happen. 

Clearing the 360's cache fixed it.

Same issue here frozen at skull after the first complete. I am trying to load to HDD and clearing cache. Wish me luck.

Ok so I've been playing Me2 since I got it amazing love it. First playthroug fine no problems with Me1 Import. On second playthrough constant freezeing at the most random of times.
(Example) {Killed Theresher Mall for Grunt cuz hes a dip**** and got himself killed . Blah Blah skip forward killed whats his name i forget . Talking to shaman Freezes no lag just freeze.}

Along with many others. Reason for writing this honestly was playing for 3-4 hours earlier froze 4 times I got frustrated and looked this up .

Theres also other things that i find kinda stupid, like when starting a new game no Me1 import you don't get to choose what happened in Me1 your automaticly a jerk who let the councel die. Not that I specificly care its just you should at least be able to choose hey Paragon or Renagade but it seems your automaticly a badass who killed everyone in Me1 hopefuly someone at bio reads this and says hey thats a good idea (by all means take the credit).

Even tho the game is amazing there are parts it seems where rushed but this is just my opinion.

Go to memory section of dasboard.
Highlight Hard Drive then press 'Y'
Select 'Clear system cache'
Select 'Yes'

After installing both disks to HDD and clearing cache, Iwas finally able to get past the dreaded skull. Thanks to all for the suggestions.

mine freezes at the EA screen. i started playing ME2 but then went back to level up my ME1 character. after doing that i imported that character into ME2 and played for a little bit. next time i started up ME2 it stared freezing at the EA logo. everytime i try to start it up again it freezes and i have to restart the xbox

I'm surprised that this has been going on since the release of the game, and Devs have yet to respond to this...Much less patch this problem. My XBox is BRAND NEW and the skull freeze happens every time. I'd like to see a little explanation from the devs here.

alright well i played this game a while back when i borrowed it from a friend of mine loved it i beat it from my imported character but after second playthrough(did some things wrong wanted to correct some things) and this started to happened so i stopped playing thinking it was the game or my xbox...bought new of both and same occurs and i've tried everything that has been suggested on this forum soo i give up what's the answer to this riddle hehe<_<

I would just like to restart this topic by pointing out that I'm the first person to post on it for nearly a year, and that would be because I am just barely getting a chance to play this game and it's F*CKING happening to me!

I got the freeze on the x-ray skull when I imported my ME1 character. Disc one is installed.
