I made an account just to post this one sort of bloggy/ rant thing: I have played both Dragon Age Origins and Dragon Age 2. I purchased every dlc for both games and probably have over a 1000 in game hours between both. So needless to say I was very excited to see that the choices/decisions you made in the previous 2 would carry over. I just got the game a few hours ago(it's rainy here so I was all ready to stay in and play for a while) and when I load it up, and get to the end of the class select it prompts me to go to a website(dragons keep) if I want to tailor the game to how I chose to do things in the previous two installments. Of course I wanted to so I go to it. It wanted me to use origin and link my xbox. This is a problem. Years ago this was through my parents email on origin which I have no access to now and in summary I would rather play the game with the default crap then have any interaction with my parents so linking it is not an option. And this is the ONLY way I can have any sort of customization based on the previous 2 games I loved. In an rpg by bioware, where such heavy emphasis is placed upon immersing yourself in the world and seeing how your choices influenced events and so forth, this is just truly sad. How hard would it have been to simply have an in game customization where you input what choices you made from the previous games? Not at all is the answer. Instead though, everything is funneled into origins where I have already waited for 45 minutes to chat to someone who took another 40 minutes to do nothing then dc from chat, and Im waiting in ANOTHER queue as I type this. Origins or some default choices? That's not MY dragon age but I bought this new and popped its cherry, so I can't return it. I'll still play and most likely like it but Bioware, you let down a lifelong fan by not simply allowing me to input my old decisions in game. That is all. -end rant-
