Even though I made the mages my allies I face palmed a hole in my skull at her idiotic choices. I don't hate her really but she is frustrating to say the least.

Fiona gave me a few question marks in the game. First her strange behaviour in Redcliffe where she seems to be influenced by something or even brainwashed. When you meet her earlier in the city she summons you to Redcliffe but does not remember that if you ask her. Was that ever answered? My theory at the time was that the Fiona who send you to Redcliffe was a future version who went back in time to stop herself going to Tevinter.

I've never read the books either and I don't hate her but she is a horrible leader and shouldn't be in charge. She was a grey warden so she isn't blind to the outside world like some circle mages and she willingly pledged herself and her people to tevinter mages. Honestly if she was so desperate why didn't she try to make peace? There would be a better chance of that working out then working with tevinters. Sold all her people into slavery.

I certainly thought that Fiona's choice of allies was stupid, but I didn't hate her. I'm not going to lie, as someone who plays mages who are in favor of mage freedom, a teensy part of me is glad that she forced the issue. On the other hand, my logical side says that that caused way much more trouble than it was worth

At any rate, I'm glad she's alive - just in case my Warden comes up with a fresh approach research-wise into how Fiona was freed from the Taint.

I hate Fiona because she's an idiot, a textbook example of someone who just keeps doing poor decisions. She only gets away with most of them because someone else cleans up her mess or sets her up.

Although you don't encounter her much on the Templar path, I smirked when you slay her at Haven because it means that all negative influence she had on mages was gone, though she unfortunately sold them all to Tevinter as her last mistake.

When I arrested the mages, I expected maybe something regarding her but she just... stays around as Grand Enchanter for some reason.

Best part of Haven was sticking a sword in her gut and ridding Thedas of such an incompetent leader who betrayed her own people.

So she's basically like every single other character who isn't the MC in the dragon age series that isn't dead.

Difference is that Fiona and her mages should know better.

So, might be a little late to the party, but...I haven't read the books so can someone please tell me WHY they think Fiona is a Mary-Sue? Like, from what I've read about her past, there's nothing indicating she's had a pretty happy life. She actually seemed like a very tragic character to me.

Though, I will confess I liked her character more before Inquisition. After meeting her in Redcliffe and hearing what she did all I could do is facepalm and wonder for around 20 minutes how can she be so stupid!

Still sided with mages though...I don't think it's fair to let innocent mages suffer because of her stupidity.

Also didn't understand the hate for her character, but after DAI I see why...I still feel bad for her and how King Alistair kicked her out, it was the right thing to do, but still, I felt pretty bad for Fiona at that moment, especially knowing her connection with Alistair.

Join forces with the Inquisition, and you have more chance to survive and prove your worth to the people.

They actually deal with this in the dialogue they didn't have the chance.

Why would you feel bad for her? She sold her own bloody people into slavery and kept defending it. Ser Barris at least took responsibility fort he actions of his own officers(the ones that where corrupted) and was willing to take all the blame for the order. THAT is a leader, not an idiot who screwed her own people over and kept trying to defend such a idiotic choice.

I was so proud of Alistair in this scene. Brings a tear to the eye.

Nope don't hate her she made a mistake and I believe in second chances so to speak so I gave the mages an alliance people work better as allies than prisoners or conscripted soldiers in my opinion.

SHe made many mistakes, and she keeps defending them. She has shown she simply does not get it, that's extremely dangerous.

Huh? I don't see that she clearly knows she is making bad decisions but she feels she has no choice considering the situation Tevinter put them in. In the end I just care about if she learns from her mistakes, helps me close the breach and do things properly from now on going by the epilogue I got she did learn.

That's my opinion on the subject I don't like or hate her personally.

She doesn't think things through. Way too emotional and just jumps head on without planing or thinking of the consequences. And when things go wrong, everybody is to blame but her.

I for one, felt rather annoyed with the mages once I recruited them and started b******g about better treatment. And what they allowed to do to Redcliff. And the nerve she had once the ruler showed up all upset over what happened.

Some people...

As cass said they now have to learn how to actually be "allies" since majority spent their whole life in a circle. I thought that cut scene was quite interesting and awesome watching cass tell the mage off.

Considering Viv divine ending I think she is aimed for moderate minded people surprisingly even if she does not come off as such during the game at some points.

No, that Fiona wasn't a future version. That Fiona was the 'original' Fiona,

Some of them are, actually.

Regardless, though, Fiona's group did not possess Tevinter citizenship, which Alexius used as an excuse to put them into "indentured servitude" as part of the naturalization process.

An indenture is not slavery, technically, assuming that the indenture is a good-faith contract binding both parties and that it is entered into without any coercion. Fiona and Alexius' arrangement fulfilled neither requirement.
