I know there is no way to see approval in this game, but my question is. Is the meter infinite? Or is there an invisible cap at a certain point. I'm asking this because, for example, if there is a cap and I keep getting good approval ratings that don't matter, but that one disapproval will impact that character negatively. Or if there is no invisible cap and I know I've gotten good approval from this character I'm willing to gamble and role play different scenarios that they may not agree with. Because I know I've gotten good approval the whole time that one disapproval won't impact it. Am I making sense? Thanks!

I'm pretty sure it caps.  For example, I've killed all the dragons with Iron Bull in my party, which gives you a monstrous amount of approval for him each time, and he stopped gaining approval after the fourth or fifth one.

It does cap, but it doesn't lock at the cap.

e.g. I stopped gaining approval with one character for a while, because I had reached the cap. I did a conversation with him in which I gained no approval from my dialogue choices, then my game crashed. I redid the conversation, but not before judging someone with a choice that caused me to lose approval with the character. I picked the same choices, and gained approval this time.

As for how high the cap is, I kind of wish there was a way to find out.

This is something that should be patched in, methinks. I've no idea where I stand with most of my companions in this game; I'm actually kinda surprised that Vivienne and Sera are still with me at all.

Hmmm really? So the indicator is that if you're high in approval you'll stop getting approval from your team. Interesting...

It is better this way, that we do not see approval rating on some sort of a number line. That is not what happens in real life, what happens is you just know that some of your companions approve or disapprove of your actions and how intensely they do so. This is a definite improvement from DAO and DA2.
