I usually have the hide helmet turned on, but for this quest I made sure to have it turned off because, if you're going to an Orlesian Ball, you might as well look the part right? To my disappointment, it won't let me equip the Orlesian Mask. Is this normal? Anyone know of a workaround?

Pretty sure it's a design choice, showing that out of everyone there the Inquisition is probably the only faction without a hidden agenda or goal. Personally, I'd have loved to wear a mask or even a dress. I hate the dress clothes. HATE THEM.

Both, but the Orlesian suits more. They look like someone wrapped them in ten bolts of cotton and splashed red and blue paint everywhere. Hate them.

I liked the uniform even though having an option to wear something dressy for the female Inquisitor would have been nice.

You can get rid off them. When you first get to equip your armour and weapons, destroy the attire in your inventory. Worked for me, I'm on PS4. Could also be a bug but doubt it. Instead, you wear your Skyhold garb. Companions still wear the Orlesian suits.

Yeah. I had to delete them because my inventory was full. I'm glad I did it.

Can we wear them at all? BecauseI thought I saw one on one of the companion in some playthought, but I'm not sure. It wasn't during the ball event, though.

You can wear them outside the party, yes, and they give points to cunning.

Yes you can equip them after the ball. I had Sera and Solas wearing Orlesian masks after the ball quest :P

You could be lacking in the racist, pretentious, or even sanctimonious department.

A mask implies I have something to hide. I make my intentions clear from the outset.

What a quaint notion.

Orlesian custom holds that people working for the Chantry do not wear masks, as a symbol of openness. While the Inquisition is not the Chantry, I imagine the same tradition holds.

(Furthermore, Orlesian mask designs represent families. None of the possible Inquisitors is an Orlesian anyway.)

I'm not quite sure but I seem to recall you unlock one at the beginning of the mission?
